Shame that happened to you. Glad you caught it before water or something were possibly sucked in. The indentations on the clamp are pretty pronounced, and it actually looks like tightening it may have eaten some of the silicone towards the left side. Vibration and other engine movement over 5K miles may have been a contributing factor.

I'll be sure to give my intakes a once over a bit more frequently. I'm sure if Z1 installed them, they'd replace the filter. Maybe putting a piece of cloth or tape under the clamp would better distribute the pressure. Thanks for the update!
