IPL exhaust for G37s Coupe

Preface: Many have read my previous review on the FI CBE, it was too loud for me and my beloved infiniti growl was gone, but I wanted better flow and more power. After doing research I found out that the IPL exhaust is a true dual setup and retains the stock infiniti growl.

Fitment: Perfect fit

The design: its a Y pipe but its a true dual pipe. There is two outlets instead of the one. The mid pipe is two inlet and two outlet. Pipe diameter is the same. The muffler has bigger tips which was a BIG turn off for me. I didnt like the look of it on the IPL bumper. Surprisingly after I put it on, it doesnt look bad at all on the coupe bumper. I m loving the look.

Butt dyno:
for casual driving i notice its alot easier for the car to accelerate. less effort was required on the throttle. This is a big surprise for me. Every exhaust I have installed that have greater flow than the stock usually makes me lose power for casual driving. I picked up some power for low end, haven't noticed much for high end.

Sound: it sounds different than the stock sports exhaust. It still has the infiniti growl but less of it. I am always aware that i have an exhaust now unlike before. The decibel is definitely tolerable for me. It always sounds like the FI CBE too but less loud along with an infiniti growl to it.

Closing: I think this is the one for me

Thanks for posting this due to the fact that I actually was considering this same exhaust for my sport coupe.

Glad you finally found your match. Crazy to think you didn't like the FI CBE; I love mines.

Great review! Glad you like the exhaust. Where did you end up finding it?

Thanks. I was just curious. I have an IPL. But this was a great comparison with the sport exhaust. I didn't really do my proper share of test drives. But you've got extended time in both which I never would've gotten in just test drives anyways.

Does anybody know if the IPL exhaust system will fit on a xS coupe? One tech at the dealership said yes and another said no.

Also, are there any IPL owners out there who went with HFC’s with their stock setup?

TIA.

just installed mine last night.
as venzz says, its definitely quieter then the stock sport exhaust, however, the growl is still there, its more of a deeper tone then a raspy type sound

Can you post a couple pics of the IPL exhaust on stock bumper?

Thanks!

The IPL exhaust sounds great! Zero rasp and a spot on fit.
