G37 coupe drivetrain swap

So, in the past I upgraded from a 3.35 to 3.69 open differential in my sedan. It was a great upgrade. The car has been gone over a year and I decided to buy a q60s coupe recently. I want to swap the rear differential again but I want to go a little further this time. My idea was to get a one piece drive shaft meant for a manual trans to install in mynauto trans. The newer 370z nismos come with a 3.9 Vlsd differential from the factory. I was going to source one of those to go along with the new driveshaft. My only concern is will the manual driveshaft work on an auto trans? It seems the only change is the flange for the differential which will match since the Nismo 3.9 is from a manual trans car. Any input would be appreciated and welcomed. Thanks in advance.

they are using a different pumpkin in the new q60 and q50, so, that swap is not doable sorry to say .the g37 and z use the r200 diff, where the q50/60 uses the r190 diff. someone correct me if I'm wrong, as far as I know they are not interchangeable.

It's the same differential because my q60 is a 2014 which still had the 3.7L.

These are both correct, 2017 and newer Q60 (New body design with 2.0 and 3.0 engines) uses the R190; 2014 Q60 (Rebadged G37) used the old R200

RE: The driveshaft and pumpkin upgrade plan, If the driveshaft was made for the 370z it may shorter, if you are getting a custom made one, just measure it...

Well the plan is to get a manual driveshaft for the G37 and a manual pumpkin from a 370z Nismo. The question I have is do the auto and manual driveshafts have the same flange where they connect to the transmission side.

AFAIK, at the transmission side yes yoke is the same but the G37 shaft and the Nismo pumpkin make have different flanges at the diff side depending on the year and options of each car its sourced from...and again, I would expect the driveshaft from the MT car to be longer than the one on your AT car so I would think matching the length is going to be a bigger problem than matching the flanges...either way good luck and post up pictures, I'm sure lots of people (myself included) would like to see how it all comes together

I think I will reach out to driveshaft shop and see if they have any comments. I feel that it will work but you don't spend $1000 on a "gut feeling". I may start a build thread soon
