Slipping in 2nd & 5th

2008 G37 Coupe 5at 205k miles

I had this issue as to where my car would shift harder than usual into 2nd under hard throttle or wot. I decided to drain the tranny and replace the screen with a new one. There was no sign of any leaks. I drained almost right at 5 quarts. So I refilled with 5 quarts of the Valvoline Import MultiVehicle Full Synthetic. After doing so I made sure everything was clean and snug with no leaks. I went for a drive and it was still driving the same. Fast forward 6 months later and now it slips for roughly a second under light throttle then catches with a light jerk going into second. Also it slips for about a second then catches like normal going into 5th. Does this sound like a minor issue or should I look into buying another tranny?

Thanks.

assuming u used the right fluid the slipping could be caused by not having enough fluid in the tranny.

Check the fluid while hot after driving home from work and it was within range. I performed a quick drain and refill (4quarts out and 4 in). I also reset the ecu. For the first 10 minutes of driving it was fine then it started doing the same thing. Being that it’s a high mileage tranny I’m looking into swapping it for a lower mileage used one.

Are all re5r05a transmissions compatible?
I have the option of getting an 04 or 05 from the junkyard at a great price.

Update.
Had a talk with a service tech at the dealership and was told that the fluid I used is just fine. I decided to perform a second drain and fill (4 qts). I also checked all hose, maf, and throttle body connections then performed an ecu reset. The car drove fine for about 5 miles. After driving it I notice that it will only shift as it should under heavy throttle but under light throttle it doesn’t want to shift as if it’s having a hard time reading throttle position under light load.

Codes
p0732 2nd gear incorrect gear ratio
p0733 3rd gear incorrrect gear ratio
p0734 4th gear incorrect gear ratio
p0735 5th gear incorrect gear ratio
^^I notice that when this is present with the 7at a transmission update should be performed. Is this the same case for the 5at? I’ve been searching and haven’t came across anything.

p0420 & p0430 due to test pipes

did you ever find a solution to the codes? Especially in 4th gear cod ? Have the same problem don’t wanna take it out anymore just on automatic ? How much was the cost to fix and what were the problems?
