NEW INFINITI owner need transmission help

I just bought my first car. 2012 Infiniti G37X coupe. I love it, but recently I have been manually shifting the auto transmission. Not abusing it but just shifting at 4000-5000 and ripping it through tunnels. I all the the transmission is beginning to shift harshly. But only in when I shift. If I leave it in D or DS it is fine and sometimes in manual it doesn't. I am leaving it in D until I can understand what is wrong. Go ahead and be harsh because I probably have severally worn the transmission. The prior owner did a Transmission flush the day I bought car. What can someone help me figure out what I screwed up?

Welcome. I moved your post to the appropriate forum.

My guess is maybe the owner used the wrong type of fluid?

Did they flush with a machine or drain refill method? Those machines can cause more issues then resolve.

Well, I just found the receipt. Transmission wasn't flushed. Front diff and transfer case/ Should I get my Transmission flushed? What I don't understand is if something is truly wrong wouldn't the trans shift harsh in every form of drive like D and DS?https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...7afc886dd9.jpg

Flushing is bad just do drain refill

Thechelsea23 07-12-2018 11:05 AM

Ok, so you suggest to drain and refill the transmission fluid?

I know there is a TSB stating this. I wounder if the flushing machine could be used WITHOUT the flushing chemicals and just to replace 100% of the trans fluid?

Drain and refill. If you're really anal redo process 2-3 weeks after again

Patient: It hurts when I do this.
*does something completely unnecessary*
Doctor: Does it hurt any other time?
Patient: No.
Doctor: Do you HAVE to do that?
Patient: No.
Doctor: Then stop doing that. That'll be $350 please.

Coming form an actual manual car, I find the auto-manual shifting to be a joke. To think you can shift the car better than trained experienced engineers and a computer is a bit presumptuous to put it lightly. I know it's a 'feature' of the car and you should be allowed to use it and it should work, but are you sure you really want to beat on a car that is out of Warranty?
