If you put a BWD or similar cheap brand in then it's likely you got a dud.

I bought the factory Denso ones. This was the replacement engine ... my other engine had a timing chain issue.

When my VQ35 Maxima had a failed cam sensor, the car wouldn't start. Didn't see your back story on this issue. If your car was revving to 3.5K prior to sensor replacement, you wasted money. Those recommendations from AZ are only just that, and they don't take into account that some other factors are occurring with your vehicle, such as engine recently replaced?

if if I turn it off.... and wait a few seconds and turn it back on it will rev normally. It may have something to do with the wires since I replaced the sensor ... so I’ll take a look at those when I get the chance. I’m so tired of the engines (yes plural) in this car I’m over it. It’s gonna her LS swapped. I’m buying something else next month... this can turn into a project car and not a headache car

This may be helpful:

If you have a VQ37 that has a coded with DTC P0340 or P0345, it is possable that the encoder ring on the cam gear slipped. This is hard to discover as there is no specs for this in the factory manual.

wow its been a cool minute since I posted this. Well I have an update... end of last year I told myself I was sick and tired of looking at my broken *** 2008 g37s (that was an amazing driver when not broken) and it would finally be time to fix it. Its paid off and still worth some good money. So I went to work. I saw a few videos on youtube on how to tackle the dreded "gallery gasket" aka galley gasket aka gulley gasket aka Nissan's 4500 dollar mistake. so I started breaking down the front end of my vehicle little by little. Pictures to come.

Success ... heated up the over and pried it off... the picture you see is me trying to time the motor out... I have video of me pointing out the broken gallery gaskets (which made me feel better knowing that actually was the problem)

For anyone thinking about doing this... take the spark plugs out... it’s hard AF to turn with them in... 2 hours later I said f it ... already this far.. took the spark plugs out and turning it was so easy... took maybe 10-20 minutes after that to time the engine out.

Got the engine timed out... put the gaskets in... cleaned (a lot) then sealed it back shut and put the cover back on... goes pretty fast once the engine is timed out
