P1090 code, anyone know what's going on?
Hey everyone.
Sorry if this is the wrong sub forum to put this, I wasnt to sure on where to put this under. My car: 2009 infiniti g37s TLDR:
Spoiler
I released the gas and pressed it again to see if it did anything and it barely moved up to around 1.2k RPMs. I tried to change to a different gear and still the same, also the same case while in neutral. I was able to make it to a parking lot and shut the car off. I tried to turn it back on to see if it was maybe a glitch or something, and on start up the RPMs jumped up and then fell down to like 500RPM and started to shake as if it was going to stall, then managed to go to 1k and stay there. I've tried to disconnect the batter for a couple minutes and plug it back in to reset the ECU, when i tried to turn it on again the same thing happened. I also tried to reset the ECU with just the pedal like Then went to buy a OBD2 scanner and got the code P1090, after searching online it shows this: https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...d50a805c19.png I also read somewhere it could be the MAF sensor gone bad, or its dirty, or a cable is damaged. Tomorrow I will try to give infiniti a call and see if they can give a bit more info, but I figured I might as well ask here maybe one of you know the most likely cause. I will also try to give the MAF a cleaning tomorrow, and see if some wiring isnt banged up. If you have any idea feel free to let me know! Thanks. Ill also try to keep this post updated if I'm able to resolve the issue with how it was fixed. |

My car: 2009 infiniti g37s TLDR: RPMs max out at 1.2k in neutral or in gear, scanned with a OBD2 scanner and got the P1090 code. I've tried to reset the ecu and will try to clean the MAF tomorrow. Anyone ever get this before, or have any idea what it could most likely be? Was driving down the road no problems. Then suddenly my RPMs went down to idle, around 1k and the SES light came on. I released the gas and pressed it again to see if it did anything and it barely moved up to around 1.2k RPMs. I tried to change to a different gear and still the same, also the same case while in neutral. I also tried to reset the ECU with just the pedal like THIS VIDEO which also did not work. Then went to buy a OBD2 scanner and got the code P1090, after searching online it shows this: https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.myg...d50a805c19.png I also read somewhere it could be the MAF sensor gone bad, or its dirty, or a cable is damaged. This just happened to me last night. Had to get a tow to the house, luckily it was only a mile or two away. Following and will update too.

Did you ever get an update??

Since the last post. I had the VVEL module replaced, and was told that i needed another part replaced at the cost of an additional $4K. I refused and picked up the car, this was in November. It still had the CEL on but after I disconnected the battery, it did not come back on, well that was unit last week Friday. I had not been driving it at all after I got it back until April due to moving from Cali to Ga. I started driving it short distances, 30-40 miles here and there, and well last week, it went into limp mode going through an intersection. At this point, if I decide to keep it, I am leaning towards an engine swap and just calling it a day.
