How to know if I'm still tuned

Hey,

Recently I bought EcuTek custom tune kit and used it to dump the ECU to get it supported by EcuTek.

The disappointing thing is that they replied back saying that my ECU has an UpRev tune on it and I first need to remove it in order for them to add support.
(Bought the car used from a dealer. So there is no access to the previous owner for confirmation.)

So I went and tried to switch between the maps that should be there if I'm really tuned using the coast and cancel button steps. But the cruise light never came up.

So I started to assume that it swiches with disregard to the light and did some revving tests in every map switchig hoping for the rev pointer to stop at 3000 rpm pursuing the valet mode which should be there if there is a tune. But still with no signs of anything there.

Is there any other way to know if I'm tuned?

Also I recall taking the car to the dealer when I first bought the car and they've checked it up with Consult. I guess by default Consult will auto reset the car once finished or at least that's what I think happens

I know that reflashing the ecu will definitely remove the tune and EcuTek shouldn't have a problem with that. Or should they?

Is there anything missing?
Will using consult will interfere with Uprev and remove it if the car is reset by Consult?

I just need to know before ordering a new cable for nothing

Thanks

i ran into the same issue but i had the UpRev tune done to my car then switched to EcuTek. Order the UpRev cable for $230 shipped. Remove the UpRev tune, which will also allow you to put that license onto the UpRev cable and then sell the cable for $100.00 more than you paid for it on here. That's what I did. You will actually be making a little money out of the deal. Don't bother with anything else do this and you can get your EcuTek e-tune underway and make a little money. It's a no brainer.

If I'm 100% sure that I have an uprev license on the ecu, then it's the best to go by your way and gain some extra money.

But my concern is if there isn't any license. Maybe there is some traces of the uprev tune and that's what makes the ecu can't be supported by EcuTek.

Shouldn't there be maps to switch between for anyone with uprev tune?

Just need to confirm.

Maybe this is the case.

Anyway, I called a tuner shop which I will have him check the car on Wednesday to be sure. And while I'm at it, I'll let him get the car back to stock.

Silly question, will getting the "Back to stock" rom file be in the same day or will it take more than a day?

Same day. But as stated before, you're better off taking it off yourself and selling it. Use the shop to identify which Osiris you have (standard or tuner), buy the cable and sell it on your own.

An appointment has been set with the tuner shop on Wednesday to make sure and identify the license type. And if a tune is found, I'm going to make few dyno pulls while at it to compare it with the stock and EcuTek tunes.

As for how to remove the tune. I'm going to remove it at the shop. But I'm going to try to exchange a number of free dyno pulls that worth the UpRev license that he will get. "If there is one in the first place".

Sounds good to me.. Whaddya think?

Lol. Naah, I've already chosen to go with an expert in EcuTek tuning.

Meant it as using the dyno for your pulls instead doing it on the street.

That's what I'm exactly going to do.
Make some dyno pulls and send him the dyno charts and results. Wish I can data log the dyno pulls for the etune but I can't because I still need to wait for my ecu rom dump to be supported first.

Guess I'll return to him once I can data log.

I am about to get a custom dyno tune soon. Should I use and EcuTek tuner? How much of a difference can it be between custom dyno tune with UpRev vs. EcuTek???

Wish I can tell you man. I still haven't received any etunes from my tuner.

EcuTek claimed that I'm uprev tuned. So I went to a tuner shop to remove it but it turned out to be that my car is completely stock. And now I'm waiting for them to come up with a solution to this.

So I really cannot tell you what's the difference but you'll definitely find some other threads will.

Check this out. I find it very informative:
