P0106

My daughter's 2010 G37 Journey sedan recently turn up with a P0106 DTC. Research indicates MAP sensor related. However, I can't seem to locate the sensor on the engine. I have read here somewhere that there is no MAP sensor on this engines, only MAF (2 of them). Can anybody point me in the right direction? Must have somebody here who have experience the same DTC. What was the fix? Thanks.

When I installed my motordyne m370, I relocated a map sensor. It was located under the engine cover, between the upper intake manifold and the firewall. Bolts in to the manifold, if I remember correctly. Small, black, about the size of your thumb.

Thank you for your prompt response. Yes, it's behind the engine on top between the rt in front of the firewall. I did some further research. Thanks.
Now, has anybody had a similar DTC? Tha car have only 44k miles on it. It seems unusual for the sensor to go bad at this mileage. But can never tell. Thanks again

Same thing happend to my 2011 g37xs 2 weeks ago. I ended up taking it to the dealership and they had to reprogram the engine computer. There was no cost.

Found this somewhere on this forum.

The P0106 keeps popping up. So, we just bit the bullet and let the Stealer reprogrammed the ECM to the tune of $295. I asked the SA if this will be done gratis, since there is a TSB on this. Their policy, yes, is if the car is still under the warranty, which we are already out, otherwise cough out the $$$.

Yep same thing happened to me. After a few days of research figured it was out of my league and took it into the dealership. They reprogrammed the ECM but couldn't tell me what caused it to mess up in the first place. Luckily they did not charge me for anything.

$tealership? Is your car in warranty? I get scared every time I hear reprogram ECU, afraid that they will de-tune.

Yes. I'm of the same mind. If I take my car to the dealership for an issue like the MAP or some other sensor will they mess up the tune I am planning on having next month?

I Better head over to the tech section for more info.

FWIW, I just got the P0106 code on my 2011 G37 Sedan Journey with 67K miles. I called the Infiniti dealership to see if I was still covered under the 72 mo./70,000 mi. powertrain warranty. The service advisor said it is based on the in-service date, not the delivery date, etc. In my case, it expired in February, LOL. However, he did say that for an ECU reprogram/software update, they charge a flat rate of 1-hour of labor. $145, which is lower than what I've read others are paying.
