Can't get over 4th in DS mode

I searched the web but wasn't able to find much with the problem I have,

Got a 2011 G37 vert with ~28,000 miles.....love it!

When I go to DS mode on the shifter and try to shift from 4th to 5th gear I get a beep from the car and it stays in 4th. Anyone else have this issue or know what may be causing it? Am I just driving to slow to go into the higher gears?

Thanks!

this and the upper gear won't change until it reach 2000|2200 rpm i guess

Honestly use the engine to help the tranny. I usually shift when I reach 4500 to 6000 rpm's depending on what I'm trying to do. It won't hurt the tranny at all. In fact the shifts are crisper and faster in those ranges. It's amazing at how quick this car can be if you shift at those rpm's. If it doesn't get past 4th doing that, then something is wrong somewhere. Also have you tried from the paddles and not just the lower gear shift lever? Let us know.

Lol same here.
It seems like your probably not going fast enough for the car to let you shiftinto a higher gear. Like i noticed that you can't shift into 5th until you reach about 35mph

Thank you for the replies.

I got out on the highway today and the car shifted fine beyond 4th. Must not be going fast enough around town, which is a good thing as I am doomed to get a ticket running around in this car.

To answer the other replies....I don't have the paddles and am shifting from the gear shift.
