HFC's
Probably should have posted this here a few days ago....
Installed AAM high flow cats last week- love them! Problem is the p0420 code. I'm going to try the non-fouler spark plug route for the 02 sensors- are there different sizes of non-foulers I need to be concerned with? What size do I need for an '08 g37 coupe (18mm?).<!-- google_ad_section_end --> Got the non-foulers ok... my question now is does anyone have any experience on how many non-foulers were needed coupled together to get the sensor far enough away from the HFC airflow to not trigger the code? I know I'll need at least 2, but I might need 3 to get the 02 sensor far enough away. My concern is the AAM HFC's I have (try saying that 3 times fast) have the sensor pointing at a downward angle, so I'm worried the 02 sensors could be in harms way if I get them extended too far out. Any help or ideas from anyone is appreciated. Thanks! Bob |
Another opton is to get an Uprev tune.. you can disable those codes permanently

P0420 is a "catalytic converter bank 1" code.
Doesn't that mean the O2 sensor for passenger side cat is bad? |

I used 2 nonfoulers when I had TPs and it seemed to work without an issue.
