Original fluids

I just hit 100k on my 2009 g37s 6mt mostly highway.I have yet to change the tranny, differential, clutch or radiator fluids.Everything runs and shifts fine.I use mobil 1 every 7500 miles.I had a 2004 g35 with 154k and did the same and had no problems. My question is, is it really that necessary to change the fluids since all is fine? Thank you. Laklein

Why are you even bothering to change the oil? :dunno:

SwissCheeseHead 04-09-2013 03:17 PM

In short. Yes. /thread

Modme 04-09-2013 03:19 PM

So you want to change the oil once something goes wrong?

quakerroatmeal 04-09-2013 03:20 PM

If it wasn't necessary it would not be in the manual..you're over due on all sorts of maintenance. Lets put it this way would you rather wait for something to break than spend more to get it fix or do the right maintenance to prevent it from happening.

Whats required for him to do so he wont have any problems is the real question.

Sounds like the Tranny fluid will come out in Clumps... differential too... havent flushed the Radiator or just changing out the fluid is a big NoNo...
All fluids like Mobil 1 breaks down...

Get your G in the shop! 100k way way past due...

Just my. 02¢

Nothing is Required... its standard in the owners manual. At certain millage intervals things need to be changed like your drawers! Lol
Real problems... if he hasn't already which is amazing. 100k on a Motor, trans, etc is by far bad up keep on the car. But he's using Mobil 1 which is by far the best IMO. Its the rest that should be changed.
Wow 100k...

GTLAW 04-09-2013 04:23 PM

WOW! this is why I don't buy used cars! Ouch!

I will heed the advice. Should I have Infiniti do it or my local shop with my own fluids. And if so, which brands would you suggest? Thank you.

mr_nlu 04-10-2013 02:35 PM

i wouldnt wait much longer since 100k is a lot of miles already

BLAIR'N G372012 04-10-2013 06:38 PM

Op... Oil is one thing yet your Radiator. The rest of the Fluids like Differential, Tranny, brake, steering IMO Go to the dealership.
But be prepared that they will go WTH! And smack you behind your head...100k is a huge NoNo...lol your Tranny pending which one I've just read can only be done at a Dealership ..
I agree with Nick... get it in ASAP!

bring your own fluids to your local trusted independent shop, or do some of it yourself. fluid changes are routine preventative maintenance and nothing special. no special "dealer only" tools required, and you'll save a ton of cash and probably use better fluids. it's always a win-win. dealers are great for warranty work, but that's about it.

Wow, and I thought I was bad, I'm at 47k miles and had the big 30k service!

Any rough ideas on what the dealers are charging for these fluids service?
