G37X Sedan Twin Turbo

I'm not very knowledgeable about cars as I have just purchased my first car I've actually wanted to do some modding too. ( Previously owned a Chevy Impala)

Is it going to be able to handle a twin turbo system?
I plan to get new exhaust, pipes, cooling systems if needed.

How much does it cost?
I'm looking to spend around $7,000.

Welcome to the best forum for the Infiniti automobile. Check out GTM.com. Their website will be able to answer all your questions.

NNNIICC 08-08-2012 02:56 AM

Thanks a lot. Yeah i've spent the last 2 days reading up on here. I find a lot of cool things and ideas

Tazicon 08-08-2012 05:39 AM

You will most likely need a good chunk more than 7k. There are a few TT's on the board here, but I can only think of a super charged X.

ANMVQ 08-08-2012 08:23 AM

Yea twins are a lot of $$$ plus the added TQ is not good for the Auto tranny, May want to take a peak at my Stillen SC 500 WHP thread, I have a X coupe, and made 412 WHP before all this.+ Welcome great forum

Legz 08-08-2012 09:44 AM

GTM TT kit is ~$9800, then you'll need tranny/oil cooler, sensors, ecu management system, exhaust, and ~25hrs of labor... You'll need to spend more than double your budget. ~$16k maybe...

ANMVQ, going to join the FI X coupes soon with my GTM TT, going in next week :D:D:D

Legz 08-08-2012 10:10 AM

Here's a GTM tt sedan:

What sensors if I may ask?

Installation cost should be around 2100

Which EMS and Sensors are you referring to? Our Turn-Key Kit comes with UpRev engine management already. Technically, you don't *need* additional gauges. Not to say it isn't a bad idea, but it's not like the car won't run without them. Besides, if you are having it professionally installed, chances are the shop will make sure everything is on target before delivering the car.

A lot of people already have exhaust done before going TT, and even if they don't have it already, it is not a prerequisite for a TT install.

Also, the AWD version of our Twin Turbo kit takes more like 40 hours to install. Everything is very tight under there and the motor must be pulled for installation. Our kit comes with brand new billet aluminum motor mounts as well as a different oil pan for the oil returns. There are a lot of additional components and design changes to cram in a pair of turbos and have it perform well on the AWD car.

At the end of the day though, you are looking at having GTR output in a very nice luxury sports sedan with AWD traction. I look forward to seeing your build Legz...I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

@Mike at GTM:
So how much hours does it take to install the Twin SuperChargers?

NNNIICC 08-08-2012 03:50 PM

So what do you think I could get for performance boosts that are inside my budget?

I don't know yet.

GTM supercharger can run stock exhaust and falls within your budget. Less install time, less money overall. Not TT, but you would not be dissatisfied. 450whp?

I'm thinking this is incredibly well-suited for you.

Awesome to hear!
I plan to put in new exhaust as well but that looks to be my next route.
Thanks for all the help!

ANMVQ 08-08-2012 09:44 PM

The Stillen kit is also less than the GTM kit and 400-425 whp is not to bad either,

Legz 08-08-2012 11:24 PM

Mike, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Sam said GTM's SC will not fit the awd coupe/sedan, but the 2xSC will.

Mike speaks of the truth, you don't need additional gauges to monitor the ecu, but it's very helpful to have the ability to keep a close eye on things, just in case. My budget's running a little thin, so I'll be using my stock exhaust and cats (for BIG torque :D), after seeing the TD05 16G turbos on a stock IPL exhaust, I'll have an idea what mine'll look like. Will start a build thread soon!!

soolman32 08-08-2012 11:35 PM

Hey Nic. As others have said, For 7k a TT setup is simply out of reach. You could go supercharge but even then you'll be short about a grand maybe two depending on where you go for install. With that said SC is probably your best bet for the budget that you have. Your options for kit are either GTM or Stillen. based on all the reviews, i'd strongly recommend going with GTM.

bluedevils95 08-09-2012 01:12 AM

I seen on video of a G35x that did it. It will cost you alot but youll be happy w/ it.

Yeah definitely the way to go, besides I wasn't planning on making track dates so realistically the TT would've been a waste of $$ that I could've spent doing other things to the car.

You are correct. Our single supercharger kit will not fit the AWD car. Only our Twin Supercharger Kit and Twin Turbo Kit for the AWD will fit.

How much does a twin supercharger typically cost?

9-10k? I beleive. Not installed

timp 08-10-2012 11:11 AM

I ordered 1 at the introductory price of $8800 and also added the oil and trans cooler. I am considering the 7AT control valve body upgrade that GTM offers as well. I plan on doing the install myself as I enjoy working on the different projects. Probably looking at $13,000 all said and done. :)

NNNIICC 08-10-2012 01:00 PM

Gahhh still out of my $7500 budget for just 120 more HP.
I don't think i'm going to do it after all.
I can spend $13K on all my upgrades I plan on doing and still keep my bike.

Stillen kit is like $6500, Take a look at it, I had mine installed at the dealer for $1700( Factory warrenty) Only thing over that I paid was for gauges and tune, $1100 for all that , That you sit 7300 or so, I think Stillens is running a special right now, get Their SC and get a free oil or trans cooler ?? Something like that,

timp 08-10-2012 01:36 PM

NNNIICC
From what I have seen and read the Stillen SC is a very good product and they have been in the performance industry a long time and this kit is offered by many Infiniti dealers under warranty. :)

ANMVQ

As soon as all the parts arrive I will start a build thread. I have appreciated all the input from you and the other members. I can hardly wait!!! :driving:

ANMVQ 08-10-2012 02:17 PM

NNNIICC 08-10-2012 11:43 PM

With 443 WHTQ I wonder how long that auto lasted?

NNNIICC 08-23-2012 11:48 AM

Hopefully long enough for it to be worth the cost ;)

Exactly that tranny doesn't have a long life expectancy.
