G Doesn't start.....sometimes?
Whats up guys...Long time!
So, been having some issues lately with starting the car... Sometimes it takes over 20 times of pressing the start button to start the car. I'll hold the clutch in, press the start button, everything turns on, press it again for the engine to start, then it all shuts off. Do it again and again and again and just wait until i get lucky. I'm not sure what it could be and neither did the dealership (shocker). Also, my battery is fine, it was checked at the dealership... |
Starter perhaps.

So it doesnt crank when you press start? And when it does finally crank it starts?
If i'm understanding that correctly, it should be the clutch switch that needs to be adjusted. There are two switches at the clutch pedal. One of them is pressed when you push your petal all the way down. When the clutch pedal is adjusted, it sometimes doesnt press down on the switch all the way. So the car does not start. |

In this pic, you see the switch with the blue connector towards the bottom right of the picture. It's labelled by the red arrow.

Judging by what you have described, i am 90% sure it's the switch.

It is most likely the switch take the picture off the forum and take it to the dealership.

First of all you should check if it is the problem. Press the clutch pedal and watch to see if it press that button all the way. Once you have determined that is the problem, you can adjust it:
There is a nut behind the switch. Loosen it and you'll be able to turn the entire switch. You want to turn it so that the black button comes up more so the clutch pedal can press on it all the way. Test it a few times and then tighten the nut again. |

Haha, looking at the video, it has to be the switch. It's either not hitting all way or you have a faulty switch. Try this:
Unplug the connector behind the switch and short the two harness pins with a paper clip. You will still need to press the clutch pedal in. And see if it'll start better. |

The car is acting as if it doesnt know the clutch pedal is pressed in. Normally, with the clutch pressed and you press the start button, it'll skip ACC and ON and go directly to crank.
When you press the button without pressing the clutch pedal, it'll go through ACC, then ON, then OFF, just like what your car is doing. |
