Can't find Block Heater plug
 

I've gone out on three occasions to look for my block heater cord/plug. Checked the battery compartment, around the radiator, near the firewall. No dice! Would anyone be able to provide pictures of where the cord runs from?

This is a Canadian car, so I assume it has it by default.

I don't think it does. I'm in Canada too and my dealer (Alta) said that they include the block heater on all cars they sell at no additional charge.

On my car the block heater is located on the driver's side of the engine, right around where the intake meets the manifold.

edit - What does it say in the manual?

Manual doesn't say if it is equipped for sure or not, nor does it show where the cord would typically be stored.

I'll take a look tomorrow around the area where the intake meets the manifold, thanks!

Update: I had to visit the dealer a few weeks ago for some warranty work. I asked about the block heater cable, they said sure np, and when I picked it up they said they put the wire just behind the driver's headlight :)

I followed it back and it comes from the driver side of the engine, but I can't see where it goes from beyond the brake fluid "box" and the engine cover (it gets a little tight as you move closer to the firewall).

Now that its exposed, does anyone have a strategy for plugging it in and hiding it? I don't like the idea of opening my hood every night to plug her in.

I'm in Canada too. My dealer ran it to the opening on the passenger side. There is a little square opening in the grill on the front bumper next to the license plate. This opening is for the tow hook. They zip tied it near there so I can reach for it when I need it. During the summer I push the plug back in and its hidden.
