^ you can see it in the picture. top right of the pumpkin. as long as the car's level, it's literally impossible to overfill.

Actually, brand-new diff fluid will have that particular odor too. That lubricant uses pressure additives to handle the forces that diffs typically encounter. If you look closely at the used diff fluid that is pouring out, you'd find it still looks amber. Not like used engine oil at all.

Thanks all for the feedback. I'm going to look into changing the fluid myself.

New fluid does have an odor, but it certainly wasn't as strong as the used stuff that came out.

You can download one here. Makes searching easier as they are text-searchable PDF's.

Had an Infiniti/Nissan dealer tell me at 20000km that mine needed to be changed as it was dirty. I politely said no thanks and have never went back to that dealer.....

I did mine last weekend at 50,700 miles and the fluid was greenish brown, a little milky, and a lot of tiny particles flowing out. Never seen diff fluid like that and thought it was really weird. Refilled with Redline 75w90.

Bear in mind that only the 7AT/2WD models are specd for 75/90, everything else (incl. AWD) gets 80/90 in the differentials.

Hi,
Yes I have the same experience. They checked it after oil change and stated it was low. Est cost about 90 bucks. It provides lubrication for the gears and prevents metal shavings, metal on metal contact, etc. Not to take lightly and forget about, as that can turn into a broken axel.

I have a 2010 G37 Sedan w/ about 29000 miles.

Thanks!

It was low? Sounds like you have more trouble than just metal shaving in the oil. You got leaks somewhere. If you never seen oil on the floor, elves must have taken it.
