We'll I'm kind of on the sugar pill belief myself, as for being bad.. well there is a circuit designed to help monitor and control the alternator charging of the battery to both A) conserve fuel and B) prevent overcharging. If you install the ground kit wire from the chassis to the negative terminal you short this circuit effectively disabling it. Many have done it however with no immediate adverse effects. Worse case is your wearing your alt a little more and possibly overcharging your battery on long runs... and who knows probably getting a microscopic bit of a mileage hit.

I'd go for a tune, mod first if you plan to and still even if you don't plan to you'd probably see at least 10hp gain just tuning a stock G and get improved response, Hypertechs a good soution for that case.

Isn't Cobb dead on the G37? If you're going to spend the money for a piece of plastic Spring Booster...you might as well just get a tune. It's only a matter of syncing the drive by wire. It's meant to be a part of Infiniti's "endless torque" bull s h i t

I brought my car in for the battery issue and my battery was replaced and the ECU was updated as well. The update didnt do much of anything. Today I had the worst throttle lag......It definitely drove me to make myself a drink! However, is this lag a reported known issue through Infiniti, or is it basically a setting or restriction that is in place for supposedly good reasons diretly from the factory. It seems that when the car warms up and is driven for a period of time, it kicks in hardcore. When the car is driven from a cold start, it is not apparent. Good call on the turbo lag aspect though. Thats exactly what it feels like.

Here is my two cents. I have experienced the throttle lag and figured it has something to do with the ECU "learning" the way the car is driven, so resetting the ECU makes sense. The true problem is that many of us drive in congested areas so the ECU will "learn" to respond as if we are always on congested streets or highways.

But automatic transmission equipped cars, like mine, have a TCU as well and that may have to be reset as well.

On my E350, this was a topic of discussion to the point that someone posted a method of resetting the TCU from the drivers seat and it worked.

In the meantime, I gues I'll have to continue using "sport" to pass the slow pokes.

this whole thing really is weird. Has anyone else tried flooring the car for a split second and then releaseing.

I have done this, and been able to get the pedal all the way to the ground and releasing without gainging any speed

And then at other times im immidiettly pushed back into my seat.

This lag business is pissing me off
