Thinking about my first mod for my G37Xs Sedan.....
I want it to either be lighter/faster or get better mpg etc.
Seems that so many upgrades have mixed reviews.
Think of the lightweight crank pulley (stock size)...but some people think its a myth.
Intake?....Stock is best right?
HFC's? SOUNDS like good solid gains...but I don't CEL or hissing sounds.
I might just take out my spare and save 45lbs!

Forget about lighter.. last thing you want to do is strip a Sedan which beats the purpose of having one to start with lol
If you want slight power, HFC's & Intakes make a small difference and if money isn't an issue go TT

I stripped my trunk completely, leaving the cargo net, lol. It breaks loose easier now, but i think i messed up the front to rear weight distribution. Now i gotta go get a lighter battery, etc...
Listen to Sam. HFC's sound good & have decent gains, along with an intake and exhaust. I would probably do intake first. Lowering the cars or some rims is nice too, if you want to change the look.

The fold down part of the rear seat was 35? bottom seat part was like 15-16lbs. The spare and all the lining of the trunk i didnt weigh. All in all i think i probably shed around.. 60 (seats) + 45 (spare) + 10-15 for the rest of the junk, plastic, lining, plastic covers for the stock amp, and jack.. about 115-120lbs.
I also had a JL 10w6 and a 500/1 with a zenclosures box that i took out. Lots of weight saved there too.. The exhaust note w/ no lining in the back is sweet though. you can hear it much better.
Racing seats would be good here.. like Recaro sports Topline. Sucks that they retail for $1799 + we need to find some kind of G37 bracket and fitment.. otherwise i just may have done it.
Hey man, i didn't strip your car..it was mine. I can do whatever i want with it. but FWIW, the rear seats are back in right now.
sorry we can get back on topic now.

Yea...I'm not stripping the car. Thinking removing the spare...probably about 50lbs and a light weight battery...maybe save another 20lbs.
Its just 70 less pounds that I'm not accelerating and braking. BUT...it probably won't be noticeable.
I've been set on doing a Cobb ECU as they get the 09's going...BUT then I've seen other posts here that showed no gains before and after.
Modding should be easy....LOL
