Boys,
Here are the real acceleration from infiniti site in italy the 2009 g37s...
Do not forget that the Euro Infiniti cars have less power than the US ones.

Unless there is a shift between 60 and 62 mph for either car, it wouldn't really affect the numbers.

Over time and with multiple data points and reviews, I think the 7AT and 6MT will post practically identical acceleration figures. And it's about time... although I would still get the 6MT.

But no matter what, as in the past, the sedan will still be slightly faster than the coupe... similarly equipped.

Appears that 7AT has similar gearing to BMW 335 6AT. Could mean lower 0-60 times?

2008 - 5Auto 2009 - 7Auto 6 MT
1st gear 3,84 4,92 3,79
2nd gear 2,35 3,19 2,32
3rd gear 1,52 2,04 1,62
4th gear 1,00 1,41 1,27
5th gear 0,84 1,00 1,00
6th gear - 0,86 0,79
7th gear - 0,77 -
Final drive ratio 3,69 3,36 3,69

Per MT:

OVERALL GEARING COMPARISON
BMW
Gear Ratio Mph/1000 Max speed
I 4.17 5 35
II 2.34 8.9 62
III 1.52 13.7 96
IV 1.14 18.3 128
V 0.87 24 168
VI 0.69 30.2 212
Infiniti % taller than BMW
Gear Ratio Mph/1000 Max speed 8.10%
I 3.84 5.4 41 -0.90%
II 2.35 8.8 66 -1.00%
III 1.53 13.6 102 13.50%
IV 1 20.8 156 3.30%
V 0.84 24.8 186 -18.1% (Infiniti 5th to BMW 6th)

There is something wrong. The 7a/t has the shortest gearing. And it was proven to have .01-2 faster accel the then 6m/t. The G35 5a/t is like 1sec slower then both.

Google brought me back here and I figured I'd update/correct this thread. I finally pulled my OEM Ring & Pinion out. My fellow 5 speeders, I got some bad news for you:

This was pulled out of my OEM diff. It shows that the Ring has 47 teeth, and the Pinion has 14 teeth. If you do the math, that's a ratio of 3.357:1. Every online resource I came across showed 3.69:1 just like the MT but that is clearly not the case. I double checked with Nissan's technical department here and they have confirmed that it's a 3.357:1 not 3.69:1.

Well I can't speak for every G37 built out of tochigi in 2008 but I can confirm that my 5AT came with a 3.357:1 four years later

Interesting, so can someone explain what causes the huge difference in rpm between 7at and 5at?

If the FD are the same and 5at has 0.84 ratio in fifth gear and 7at has 0.77 the difference should not be that huge yet on highway I hit somewhere around 2900-3000 at 71 yet I see that 7at people are below 2k ..

7AT runs about 2400 rpm at 70 mph. At least, mine does.

My mistake then sorry.
Still If the final gear ratios are the same and 3.36 as mentioned in this thread at 70 mine should run around 2600 rpms yet I am around 2900-3000 rpm at 70. Are we certain that the 5at with lsd is coming with 3.36?

I didn't reread what was said earleir inthsi thread but I can tell you from installing two o nan AWD car (which wont work with 3.36 gears b/c the front diff is 3.69 and needs to be matched) and from this chart (https://www.z1motorsports.com/upload...GearRatios.pdf,) the 5at LSDs have 3.69 gears not 3.36
