TEST PIPES or HFC'S??

Im still deciding which ones to get i keep hearing everyone say how sick the HFC's are and the gains but what is the difference between HFC's and Test pipes? dont really know too much about both other then that they have good gains

Test pipes usually get more gains than HFC's, they're also louder. Most people here in SoCal get HFC's since they can get past smog.

Test pipes are illegal in all 50 states. They tend to sound louder and raspier than HFC's. They may produce slightly more power than HFC's.

how can you pass a smog test? does they also test it when you go in and get an inspection?

Bro, you'll be happy with HFC's...love mine...and no engine light trips...a lot less headache and a lot less unwanted attention.

I don't know about other states, but here in SoCal there's a freeway on ramp that they put a censor on once in while which actually tests your emissions.

A test pipe, is just a pipe, HFC's are less restrictive cats.
So you get more gains from test pipe, but you will never pass smog, and everytime you come to a stop light you'll smell gas reaking up the car.

haha, that's what i thought when i moved from louisiana to cali. there are yearly vehicle inspections, which do not smog check, in most southern states.

cali has, what, smog checks every 2 or 3 years? but for new cars, it's not necessary until after 6 years? i don't remember all of that happy crap.

The1andOnly Jun 17, 2008 08:52 PM

yeah, it's every 6 year I believe.

When the censor is on, I believe it's only when a CHP officer is there, and if you don't pass the censor, they'll pull you over and give you a fix-it-ticket.

is it hard to install berk's HFC? and will I face problems with the O2 sensor? or check engine light perhaps?

Check the supporting vendor section as there is an awesome groupbuy going on for the newest Berk HFC's.
