Staples: Keep us informed on what your dealer says in regards to this issue.

I have escalated to the regional specialist and will take this as far as needed. I'm not getting pushed around anymore. I will get this issue with the throwout beating/flywheel/clutch fixed as well as the exhaust. I'll definitely keep everyone here posted on new developments. Currently I'm faxing over all the information and proof I have against the stealership in KC, and will be forcing these papers down their general managers throat as well. No excuse.

Also, if everyone has a throwout bearing that is seizing up on them, this could become a huge issue. The problem is isn't the clutch not covered under the warranty since its a wear and tear part? Or does that not matter if they prove a bearing did the damage?

I would warn everyone here to never consider stopping into the Major Infiniti dealership for sales or service in Kansas City. Skip past them and go to St.Louis where the dealership is much better.

PMS, check your pm

PM Ckecked and responded. Check your PM LOL. Your right in saying that the clutch is not covered under warranty, but my car only has low 3K on it so that is why they probably didn't give me a problem and took care of
it. I can't be sure of that though. Infiniti of Massapequa where I bought my car is the best dealership that I have ever dealt with. Sales and service. I just can't believe that the other dealerships are given you guys a hard time with the bearing, when they know its a problem with these cars. But good luck with the regional specialists.

LOL I brought the car into the dealership 10AM this morning. Turns out the muffler they ordered was damaged so they had to overnight a brand new one and put me into a loaner. They were extremely hesitant to put me in one due to me being only 21. 25 I think is a little steep for a rental, if I can buy beer I should be able to "borrow" a car. Anyway, I brought in all my paperwork I printed out on here and the service consultant basically didn't even look over it so I left it on his desk when I left on purpose. When they give me a call tomorrow I'm going to talk to them about the clutch "noise" as he likes to call it.

By the way, the G35x Sedan has got a pretty good amount of pickup, I was surprised!

I'll keep everyone updated once I get an answer tomorrow.

I have this problem as well, and I have the same bad service problems with the dealerships here in southern California. (Santa Barbara, Venture and Oxnard) Don't ever buy a car from the Oxnard dealership because there service writer is a joke and should really be fired do to his bad attitude. The area rep. from Infiniti didn't impress me ether. 21 - 25 yr. old guy who really didn't impress me with his unprofessional manor. I know these cars are not the most expensive but my Honda dealership here in Santa Barbara, CA. was way better than this. The Infiniti of Santa Barbara is actually pretty good trying to work with the customer on fixing these problems as they come up.

Heh, lil play on words there, or acronyms anyway. Thanks for the help Pms1212.

Staples: At least they are replacing your muffler!! They refuse to even do that with mine, even though its in the TSB and I have VIDEO/AUDIO PROOF of it occurring. Which is why I'm giving infiniti a mouthful daily to their regional specialist. I've had it with my cocky service manager who acts like I should bow down to him. I swear I think sometimes if I were a 45-65 year old they would treat me entirely differently. I'm 24.

Anyway definitely keep us posted on their response to the throw-out bearing/clutch/flywheel issue. It doesn't surprise me at all that they didn't even look at the paper. I wish I had a contact at the New York dealer that would vouch for the issue on the car and let these dealerships know how a customer should be treated. Car dealerships wonder why they get such a bad rep, its a shame so many bad ones ruin it for the few good ones.

I'll let you guys know what happens, however I'm leavin on vacation the 26th, which is why I wanted my car to not sound like a cheap honda crx with its muffler draggin the ground. sigh..

Guys Im waiting for a new muffler from Suburban Infiniti of Troy in Michigan and they keep telling me that it's on backorder with no ETA and that it could take xx days!!! They said the Chicago plan ships it out to us and that they ran out or some crap!!! They claimed to have put the order in about 2-3 weeks ago!!!! I am seeing and hearing people on this forum get their mufflers overnighted to them. WTF is going on you think they are BS'ing me? I do not like my local Infiniti dealerships. They also treat me less because I'm 24 they probably think I have parents paying for my car! I pay for my S H I T.

EDIT : Im on the phone with Infiniti Consumer Affairs about the lack of attention and slow timeliness and bad customer service Im getting. She is updating my file and "getting things ready for the regional specialist to contact me" Wow she is actually calling Troy right now to see if a part has really even been ordered for me! This is great she sounds like she acknowledges my dissapointment. I love how the higher ups try to help and the direct help (dealerships/service techs) don't care. It's an unfortunate and headache inducing vicious circle...She is also going to place a complaint against Troy.

remember just like going to court for anything, each issue even though we might have the same problems will be considered on an individual basis. PMS are you going to HIN tomorrow? call my cell phone if you do

Kenny you're at Massapequea where PMS's clutch throwout bearing noise was fixed. (clutch engaged vs disengaged) Can you pleeassee call my dealership and tell them to fix mine? Or do you want me to take a road trip to NY to get it fixed? haha
I want the service that an older white woman gets!!!! (I'm brown and 24 so my dealer prob thinks I sell drugs or have my parents pay for the car)

da_mayor, its a wonder some dealerships like yours exist. I wish my dealership out here paid 1/4 the respect you do to your customers. However, the dealership here in KS is not the dealer I bought my car from, that shouldn't matter, but I believe i most cases they treat you worse if you don't buy a car form them. I want this throwout bearing fixed because I can tell its doing damage and it could end up being very costly.

What if I took it into a respectable shop and had them look at the throwout bearing/clutch, and had them prove there was an issue, then took that to a dealer. What would the crooks do then?

Ugh, is it soo much to ask for simple service on a $43,000 dollar car???

If you take it to a respectable shop it's going to cost you money for there time and labor to do it. I guess it would be money well spent if they see that the bearing is seized. But then they would have to put it back together when its no good. I don't know about that one, maybe someone with more experience with a shop can tell you better.

Okay, muffler has been installed and believe it or not, it sounds louder then my original for some reason. So, they replaced the muffler, fixed the cigarette burn in my armrest (they did an awesome job with that), and "listened" for the clutch noise. I got the "it's perfectly normal" quote. The car has 13k on the odometer and I still have 57k on the warranty, so I'm not going to worry about it.

Also, if there is a problem with the throw out bearing I highly doubt Infiniti is going to release a TSB for it due to it being considered "wear and tear". Think about it, if the clutch/flywheel isn't covered then why would they release a bulletin for it, they would blame it on driver error first, not manufacture.

To answer the question about taking it to a shop and having them pull the transmission cover off and checking for a bad bearing, don't. That's the last think you want to tell the dealership when you take it in for service. I could pretty much assume they would void your warranty at that point.
