EcuTek etuning | Sebastian or John

hey guys trying to decide on an EcuTek etuner. Read great things about both
Sebastian @ at Specialty-Z and John @ Visconti Tuning but can you share your experiences and why you went with either one.

Seb: Stellar customer support. Fast response, like literally never more then 12 hours to hear back from him. His tunes are well documented with gains and his experience with the VVEL and VTC shows. Communication. That said I ended up going with a local tuner as recommended to me by EcuTek, but I honestly sort of regret it and most likely will get re-tuned with Seb before the end of this year. I am 11 miles from my tuner and I get faster more clear honest responses from Seb when I email him.

I contacted Visconti. He knows his stuff. His computer communication and customer service skills are lacking, but that's opinionated. He also took a decent amount of time to respond and on a few things just flat out ignored my questions. But, like I said; that aside he can make the numbers as well... but he also went on the record saying E85 yields no gains and is a waste of time and effort... and he was wrong on that one.

Have you contacted both asking about your goals, wants, and build? If not, shoot them both an email.

Thanks for a well put together response.

I'll take your advice and email them both.

One difference that stands out between the packages offered by them is that Seb is unlimited tunes for a year and John is 6 etunes. I kinda like the 6 etunes from John vs just the one year.

Another member on here compared his dyno tune from John, and his E tune from Seb at the track on the same day, here was his experience:

Here is a link to the original thread if you want to look into his experience a bit more:

I've had Seb and John V, Seb all the way. ^^ Seb also has a throttle highjack the allows the car to launch, wins for us auto guys, left foot brake and rt foot gas, zero throttle pull from the ecu you could do a full burn out if you wanted to.

SEB hands down.. he does all the work on my car.. First tuned with UPREV then ECUTEK..
One of the best tuners around..his turnaround time for responding to emails is quick as mentioned above

so after email them both, its free ecuteck feature updates for one year and Visconti 6 revisions "Purchasing a custom tune requires you to submit datalogs and entitles you to six (6) revisions" is only for one tuning its not like 6 separate revisions. so that being the case looks like i'll be going with seb.

one other question. i'm in TN and we have 93. i dont normally take the G on long trips but there's always a chance and i may and run into some 91. so i really need a map for each or should i just tune with 93 and forget about 91?

I've used them both. Both are good tuners. Seb is better and has exceptional customer service. I'd recommend him.
