Back in the day, when I was younger and apparently had no fear of repercussions, I'd tune on the street. Actually late at night on empty highways. Fourth gear pulls to redline provided enough data points to make quick work tuning. Theoretically, a street tune loads the engine more than say a dynojet and there's obviously more accurate airflow.

Honestly though, the small benefits are far outweighed by the potential negatives and downsides, just from a safety standpoint alone.

For normal driving/part throttle and controlled acceleration, the street is fine.

Driveshaft idea is a good one if they'll do it. Any issues with putting all the power through the front? Not familiar with the X's drivetrain. Will it allow 100% of the power to the front?

You don't need to unbolt the driveshaft, you can just unplug the awd module to be able to operate in rwd.

Hmm this could be helpful. I'm sure there's a DIY on here somewhere. Thanks for the tip.
