Here are the dynos I got of my stock G37. Did this so I know what my numbers will be before my upgrades so I know what I get after each upgrade. :D

Enjoy:

To be honest, I don't know. It was the type were you roll the rear wheels over two drums that measure the HP/TQ. I guess you have to tie down the cat as well. Hopefully some dyno experts can let us know. I was hoping the type would be on the bottom of the page but I am not sure if that is the type or not.

You got me. The guy asked me which gear was 1:1 but I didn't know. He figured it was 3rd or 4th. I assume he found out 4th was 1:1. I never looked it up after.

NemesisG37 Mar 9, 2008 11:38 PM

looks way too low.

bboysteele Mar 9, 2008 11:40 PM

hmm...Just looked it up.

It looks like the 5th gear is the 1:1 ratio in the 6spd whereas the auto is 4th.

Drivetrain : Rear-Wheel Drive
Trans Type : 6
Trans Description Cont. : Manual w/OD
First Gear Ratio (:1) : 3.79
Second Gear Ratio (:1) : 2.32
Third Gear Ratio (:1) : 1.62
Fourth Gear Rato (:1) : 1.27
Fifth Gear Ratio (:1) : 1.00
Sixth Gear Ratio (:1) : 0.79
Reverse Ratio (:1) : 3.45
Final Drive Axle Ratio (:1) : 3.69

NemesisG37 Mar 9, 2008 11:46 PM

well that explains everything. You should ask to re dyno it...or else youll have to keep dynoing it in 4th if you want to know what gains your mods make

agree, shouldnt it be around 260?

At the usual drivetrain loss of 15%, 330 hp at the crank should come out to 280hp at the rear wheel. What is up with this VQ motor? Is it overrated?

well first of all it looks like he dyno'd at the wrong gear...and secondly it looks like a "suprflow" dyno..which reads considerably lower than a dynojet or a dynapack.

there have been guys here who have dyoned between 270-290whp and 302hp at the hub...

there is nothing "up" with this VQ motor...different kinds of dynos read differently

gsazabi Mar 10, 2008 03:09 AM

Super Flow Dynamometer reads SUPER low. If you want dynamometer that'll put smile on your face, go dyno on Dynapack lol

UltimateGee27 Mar 10, 2008 09:00 AM

yea those numbers are off....either wrong gear pull or a weird dyno machine.....the 3.7 should pull alot higher than that.

brown_fv Mar 10, 2008 12:41 PM

Dyno chart says superflow dyno...they read mad low dont they?
