I want DRL but, independent of headlight , with the factory switch.
So I did this mod on my Acura fairly simply.
No extra relays, powered by the windshield wiper supply, and controlled by the factory switch on the turn signal stalk. I'm posting the thread, you guys that have done the drl mod with relays, take a look and anyone familiar with the diagrams can compare the acura schematic. it was really easy, and I'm thinking it should be just as easy with the G. Acurazine Years ago I put a 2004 Infiniti drivetrain/EPDM/ECU, CANBUS, NATS and OBD2+ system into a 1997 Maxima (to get a "full swap" VQ35DE) and I did have a similar fog bypass as your Acura. When I changed the car over to CANBUS (new column) that went out the window and my fogs operated like OEM because I didn't feel like reprogramming or hijacking the EPDM. |
So you're saying theres no wire that tells the car to turn on the lights when I turn the switch?
That's horse****. Alright. |
Get ahold of the FSM. Look under "Body Control System>Combination Switch Reading System"
Yes, I agree with you. They only saved a few wires by doing this overly complicated setup. It is a grid matrix setup sort of like a backwards LCD display driver. Years ago when I ran into this, I was frustrated as hell. There is a product for the G35, that supposedly works on the G37 that intercepts the BCS signal and re-codes it to get your fog lights on without headlights, but I heard there is a coding glitch that causes one fog to turn off when the turn signals are used. |
BTW, here's a link to that fog module: https://www.myg37.com/forums/private...ht-module.html
