Good luck!
All good thank you ! Also, to relieve fuel pressure, couldn't I just unscrew my gas cap instead of play with all the fuses and stuff?

No. Removing the gas cap only relieves the pressure in the fuel tank. There are check valves which maintain pressure in the fuel lines (post fuel pumps). This pressure can only be relieved using the method provided.

Glad this was brought back up. I'm going to check mine, might not be a bad thing to replace it with 120k miles on my car.

You are able to replace the part without jacking the car up. Tight fit, but I was able to do it in under 30 mins this morning. The hardest part was being able to keep the green retainer clip in place and slide hose on.

hey did you ever get just the fuel damper small tip off on its own? Or do you have to change the whole line

model Possible other issues that relate to a leaking or bad fuel dampener

New to forum but have enjoyed reading all I can about the fuel dampener (damper) on the G37 Sedan 2009 model.

I have a leaking dampener. getting worse. plan to replace this week. ordering the parts I would like too order anything else I may need. Planned to check all Fuel Injection parts for issues then order at once.

Sent this without completing the issues.

Lately the transmission has not been downshifting when braking as it always does. my car is idling high and is hard to brake when at higher speed.

Could this be related too the dampener going bad, in addition to the terrible gas mileage I am getting, and the constant knocking from the failed dampener.

recent new brake pads and rotors
base model sedan 135k

I was thinking Throttle control module, or Idle air control valve? without the dampener acting up, I would head towards those areas, but this seems like it is related.

any ideas or help would be great. recently cleaned both throttle bodies and it was running great till this popped up, the dampener issue has been around for a month BTW.

Thank you
