Question Rear sway bar advice

Hello all,

I have been reading a lot of threads on rear sway bar mods, but no one talks much on what setting they used, closest, middle, farthest hole. I am going to install my new rear sway bar and wanted to know what everyone thinks is the viewed setting? I was thinking the middle, but then using the 1st setting to mask it stiffer is that more optimal? Advice?

Everyone talks about what setting they used. That question is asked a million times. The answer is that nobody can tell you how you like the car to feel. Set it in the middle and adjust it stiffer or looser to suit your preference.

making the sway bar shorter in the rear will result in more oversteer, rear coming out, less results in understeer, feel of front end plowing. do as jeremy suggests and start in the middle and go play to see what you want the car to do. find a track or autocross the car...

I have to disagree somewhat. The principle of what you said is exactly right. But if installing just a rear sway bar, all the settings are significantly stiffer than stock. So all the settings will result in oversteer, just the stiffer ones will result in more than the softer ones. If installing both front and rear you can dial in some degree of understeer by using a looser rear setting in relation to the stiffer front bar.
