So in theory to what your saying is that my G being a 2009 with the 3.7l would have the new firmware and update so shouldnt be affected by the 3.5l issue with throttle bodies? I also have an uprev tune if that matters

That's my understanding, but since I have a 2011, I can't be 100% certain.

You could have a read through these comments, some people mention their year and if they were successful:

This would explain so much...I have developed a tried and true method for doing the relearn on my 07 HR but its not for the faint of heart and still a PIA that takes more time than I'd like somtimes....

I'd much rather get a firmware update....Eugene is out in the Bay area in California... can you get the firmware updated anywhere in the GTA?

Ummm, yes, the G35 with the 3.5 liter V6, has been around since 2003....
The G37 has been around since: 2008 for the coupe, the sedan was 2009.

Did this today while I changed out the plugs and thankfully no codes or issues. I moved the butterflies as well to clean them the best I could

Had to reset windows though lol

Not sure if its mentioned in this thread or not, but when cleaning the throttle bodies, it is also a good idea to also check and or clean/replace the PCV valves. My G37s coupe have about 63K miles on it and the throttle bodies was cleaned again. This time I wanted to check the condition of the PCV valves. I noticed the PCV vales are blocked by the intake hose on each side of the engine.

The G37 PCV valve is blue in color once you cleaned off the dirt. With the intake hose off, all you need is a pair of pliers to remove the clamp and the small hose leading to the PCV valve. The small hose can then be pulled off of the PCV valve.I then use a 22 or 23 mm socket to remove the PCV valve...sorry I forgot. It was not on very tight.

My PCV valve was barely making the clicking sound when I removed it. Almost plugged up at 63K miles. I went ahead and sprayed some brake cleaner into the PCV valve. Lots of dirt and oil came out and my PCV valve sounds like new again. The clicking sound is restored and like new again.
I let the valve dry for about an hour while I clean the throttle bodies.

Reinstalling the PCV valve, I tighten by hand using the socket with no wrench. This will ensure I will not over tighten it.Then reinstall the small hose and then use plier to reinstalll the clamp.

Done.

With the throttle bodies and PCV valves cleaned, my car does run smoother and is also smoother during acceleration. I'm glad I did both at the same time.

^^^ Excellent tip! Thanks for sharing.

Quick question:
How is this car driven?
Cruising/highway driving or wide open throttle once in a while to have some fun?

Mostly 99% city and highway cruising. Only once a year for wide open throttle to have some fun.
