Viscous clutches dont chatter, only the clutch pack versions.
Ours have a freaking bind and release, you can tell when making a right up a driveway from a stop. Thats normal.
If you have an LSD, any gear lube that is suffixed with LS, has the additive.
Mobil 1 LS is the best for street aggressive use. If you track, then spend the money on Motul.

If you're going to do it, don't do it like this.

I have both for past 4km~ drives nice. Trans shifts smooth and quiet no complaints there. Diff hard to tell over OEM fluid tbh it hasn't change characteristics assuming that's good
I would recommend it, just make sure to don't overfill them both and you won't have any issues

BB great write up, per usual.
after reading this entire thread and doing a little independent search i found some conflicting information. i see people on here referring to a limited slip and the possible need to add a friction additive/modifier if the oil doesn't include it already (mobil one and redline). there is a post on this thread that says the G is not a limited slip, but then there a post that says without the friction additive/modifier it wont work correctly. as a possible explanation to these conflicting posts edmunds.com claims a limited slip was an option on the G37S. BB, i know you said you didn't have any problems with the amsoil oil you used (without the friction additive) but is that because you don't have a limited slip and therefore didn't need it?
my question is: how do you tell if you have a limited slip and if there is on way to tell, does it hurt using a friction additive or premixed LS oil (like the mobil one or redline discussed in this thread) it the car does not have a limited slip (thereby just "playing it safe")?
hopefully this convoluted question makes sense. i have an '08 G37S with a MT.
any help or input is appreciated.
