Upgrading to the Z1 diff cover and it calls for .5 more fluid can I mix in redline heavy duty shockproof with my existing GL5 redline fluid. What do you guys recommend?

Hey guys I’m gonna be changing my trans and diff oil soon and was wondering where to get OEM oils and plug washers from? Is the dealer the only place or is there a good website to use? I use Royal Purple motor oil but am leaning towards OEM trans and diff oil. Thanks

if the local dealer website is expensive get the part number and buy from ebay since its usually free shipping. but theres a good chance the dealer site has it for almost the same price

I've done my MT fluid 3 or 4 times now. Have yet to replace the washer. Don't plan on it when I do it next time either. Used redline fluids for both trans and diff. Get it on amazon, ebay, etc.

Thanks I’ll have to call the dealer for pricing and part number to compare. I’m going to be driving my G cross country soon after changing the oils I’d prefer to replace the washers just to be sure. I’ve also heard mixed reviews about Red Line.

I can’t find any fluids or washers on any dealer or ifiniti parts websites, looks like OEM or red line fluid is about $20 a qt on amazon. Is that what everyone is paying? $80 for 4 quarts every change?

I'm going to be changing MT fluid this weekend. Went to my local auto parts stores and they only carries Mobil1, Royal Purple and Lucas. One of the store managers recommend to get mobile 1 75w90 for tranny fluid swap.

Make sure what ever you use is GL4 rated. Don't use a gl5 fluid in the trans.

Roger. May I ask why? The mobile 1 fluid I bought is API-GL5. I was unable to find GL4 fluid locally.

MT has brass components (synchro's). GL5 is harsh towards such metals. Refer to your owners manual/fsm for correct fluids to use.

I see now. I was unaware of that. I was planning to do the fluid change this weekend since I was going to have a lot of free time. Well, time to return and get Redline.
