Thanks BB. It's Gary from Dallas, used to live in H Town. Great write up. I know I can do this, but don't have a jack (anymore) or rhino ramps. Those 2 will cost me more than $95, so I might pay a guy $95 to do it next week that I knwo well and is from a great shop, OR, just talked to a local tire place and they could do it today. I would rather let the good shop do it, but this is pretty easy, so I am sure the guy can do it no problems.

hmmm, decisions, decsisions..............

Thanks for the contribution and the nice write up Double B..........................

I was at Autozone this morning and found a bottle of silicon lube in a spray can. You think this would work on the sway bar brushings?

Yes it's a good idea to upgrade the end links as they are a weak point. I had these on my g37 and I had the left rear end link fail twice!

O ok, is it ok to just change the rear links for now and go back later to change the fronts? It seems from searching more people have problems with the rear.

Thanks for the DIY Black Betty, really made the instal less stressful. Very pleased with the results. Maybe I'll go further into modifying suspension components. Too bad there aren't any stiffer springs that maintain stock height (Austin, Texas would destroy a lowered car).

I was just there this past weekend in my lowered G. I have driven in Austin a lot in a lowered G. CentexVQ is full of guys who drive in lowered Gs. Get coilovers, lower it moderately, and have a blast on 2222. I do.

Did this install yesterday. I have never done any mods other than interior leds and the GTR button install, and I would rate this as a 5-10 difficulty. I did have a friend helping me, and we did have all the required tools and ramps. I followed BB's DIY to the letter and it went well. However, I do have the sedan, and dropping the exhaust took some effort, mainly due to rust. Taking off and putting back the front splash guard was the worst part. After one drive you can really tell the difference; the car is much more planted and I can now take turns like I want too. Now I'm thinking about new tires! Maybe springs...

Thanks a bunch for the great write up BB, although I'm only upgrading to Sport sways for my Journey this will make it much easier!
And I'll be loading up on silicone grease, sure as hell don't want Fran Drescher in the cabin
Cheers!

Great Write-Up!!!

Followed your instructions, step by step, no problems at all. Best write-up I've seen yet and proud to say I got them installed myself!

Went from stock sways to Hotchkis in under 2.5 hours. Set the rear sway to the middle setting. Can tell a little difference in the rear, but mostly in the front end. I now have noticeably less roll and I love the handling now. I personally thought that before it was still a little sloppy even with OEM sways. Love it now, just have to get some more silicone grease to give the zerks a squirt. Thanks again BB!

Thanks for the kind words. I have a question. Did your bars come with those brackets that are pictured or did you buy them separately? Mine look very different (photos in the first post).

Does anyone know the correct Torque specs for an X sedan? Hotchki's doesn't even list them in the instructions.
