Steering Wheel Wrap Experience

Steering Wheel Wrap Experience
Hey everyone, new user here!
I just purchased a 2012 37X Sedan, had the coupe 2 years ago on lease. Moved to BMW, hated it, so I'm back.
Looking forward to doing some work:
Tint appointment next weekend
3M gloss black in transit for window trim wrap
Diode Dynamic LED everything in transit
Contemplating Hotchkis sway bars, no plan for springs right now
Contemplating short ram intakes for easy maintenance
The steering wheel on the car is rubbed down/glossy, no peeling yet. I plan on changing it, but dealership said its not damaged enough for warranty. I wanted to see if anyone has experience with these cheap wraps I found? I bought one, unfortunately delivery won't be for another 2-3 weeks.
Thanks and looking forward to talking to you all!

A bit surprised your 2012 already has worn out steering leather, any chance it just needs some reconditioning? Interested to see how the install goes as it would be something to bookmark for a time when mine gets to such a point. Our 09 has 72k miles and still has good tack FWIW
Hopefully it will end up looking like the pics, looks pretty good from those views.

I actually did check out the Redline covers, but I figured for $26 it might be worth taking a shot in the dark first. I figure I will use it until I am fed up and try to replace the OEM.
The dealer told me its normal wear/tear, that most 2012 look the same way. Coming from a new car to preowned, the minor wear will bother me when staring at it everyday. Looks like the original owner had a very tight grip because the shifter is pretty worn also. I have been eyeing the new Maxima shifter as a possible replacement.
I will definitely post some pictures after it is installed, I am hoping that I do not have to dismantle the wheel to get the right fit.

Mine is a 2012 X too. I can't tell the difference at all from a brand new one. Its previous owner must have hand skin as rough as sandpaper. Just put some Lexol on and see if that helps.

I attached some pictures of the wear on the wheel, the woes of purchasing preowned Any thoughts on what to do about it besides covering it up? I don't know how someone can wear down leather like that.

Cover will definetely protect steering wheel. I had same cover on my old Camry steering wheel for around 8 years / 100k miles and when I took it off steering wheel looked brand new.
I bought that cover at autozone for $20 and it holder pretty well.

I agree. I had many cars that I was abusing with more than 100k miles and non of them had steering wheel as beat up as that in the pic.
When you were buying that car you should ask for price reduction or ask them to change steering wheel or there's no deal. You, as a buyer, always have upper hand when it comes to the car buying.

No chance dealer would replace it under warranty. They probably want you to explain how the aluminum piece in the shifter is showing the same level of wear. It looks like the previous owner drove with chain mail gloves on. This is crazy if you ask me. My 240SX didn't look half as bad when I got rid of it with 200K miles on it.
