Unknown strong smell
I just replaced my '09 G37X that was totalled, and got an '11 G37XS sedan. The interior was really well kept, and seats and carpeting look amazing, but I noticed that the car has a really hard to describe strong odor that seems to be coming from the vents, but I'm not even 100% sure, it is such a unusual smell, and is pretty strong, but when I put my nose up to the side vent , it seemed like it might have been coming from there. (It is not a pet smell, and I don't even think it is a wet carpet that wasn't dried properly smell either, it is like almost a musty chemical smell)
The car had service history at a shop, and I found it unusual that the cabin filter was replaced in January 2015, and again in mid 2016.
What would you try first, and anyone have good results with one of those AC vent sprays?

Ozium works well. Clean your cowl under the hood/wipers. Turn your hvac blower on high and set it for fresh air not recirculate. Spray it right into where the fresh air comes into the cowl under the hood. You should then smell it inside the car from the vents. Walmart usually has at least 2 different flavors (scents) of Ozium

Possibly related to the cabin air filter. Remove it and get something like this: https://autovaccine.com/. We've used these on work trucks to get rid of some pretty terrible smells in them.

I took apart the glove box, and the filter was not really too bad, and the actual filter had a good scent to it (which seemed unusual), but where the filter sits, it had a thick black dust, and when I sniffed the dust, it had that strong odor.
I ended up using this by running the AC on recirculate for 10 minutes and the can released completely:
