Cleaning felt in window slots

Had my car rust proofed. It's as greasy as a butter ball! I've washed it and cleaned the windows multiple times. When ever I roll the windows up there are fresh streaks of oil on the panes. I'm guessing the rust proofing substance has saturated the felt like substance in the window slots. What's a safe way to clean them? I was thinking of some mild soap and water. I'll wrap a damp micro fiber towel over a spatula and gently run it through the slot. I'll follow it up with a wet towel rinse. I need to cut the oil but I don't want to damage the sweeper material in the window slots.
Next time I take the car to get rust proofed, I'm going to put masking tape over the bottom window edges.

Roll the window down and spray the felt with brake clean or contact cleaner.

That can dissolve the glue holding the felt onto the pillar

With the windows down, Take a rag with soapy water. And stick your finger in the rag and wipe between the felt channel a few times.
