Considering 2012 g37xs Sport Appearance

Overall it seems like a fantastic car. A solid balance of sport and luxury- with the added benefits of less costly repairs and maintenance, and a lower overhead cost when compared to German rivals. Really fun to drive too. Plus I need AWD for these Midwest winters.

Two things i want to hear thoughts on (I know it's my decision, but it's nice to have some input from infiniti and car enthusiasts):

1. The exterior color is Smoky Quartz. I think this color looks okay with the sport appearance package, but some window tint would probably help. I'm a young male, so i just dont want that "old person lexus" look. Might be cool to be different though- I hear this color isnt too popular. Thoughts?

2. I know the overall exterior styling is pretty dated. And I'm wondering how you think the styling will hold up a few years from now. Will it still be a strikingly handsome car or look extremely dated considering the sharp lined styling of newer car models (e.g. the q50 and 2013 re-style of the 3 series sedan)? The g37 is pretty iconic, so maybe it'll still be recognized as a well styled car.

I personally really like the smokey quartz color. I have blue slate and would gladly trade. I blacked out my chrome window trim, midnight grill, oem front lip and rear spoiler and tinted the windows and lowered the car on 19" oem convertible wheels. It drastically changed the look of the car and I even notice other G owners who wouldn't be interested in cars taking notice of it. For the record I was 27 when I bought my car and am approaching 30 now. Ironically I owned a Lexus prior to this car lol.

Not sure I would refer to the G Sedan's styling as dated. It's a classic/unassuming design that should hold up well with time. True, it's not cutting edge style, but it will age well because it is relatively simple.

I like Smoky Quartz personally as it's unique:
