2011 IPL vs 2011 XS
Hi everyone... New member to the board, but not the Infiniti family. Currently have an 09 G37x Plat. Graphite. Alright, to the question at hand. I am looking at two vehicles and could use some expert advice. The first one is a 2011 G37 IPL. I owner, he was a truck guy and traded it on a brand new truck... different strokes.. It has 12,000 miles and the interior is the black/gray with red trim. Also, has the 3m clear bra film installed. Have the price down to $36,375. Love the car..
However, the other vehicle is a brandnew 2011 leftover G37 XS. It has 650 miles. Yup, 650, never been titled. Would have new car warranty, 4 years - 50,000 miles... etc. Premium, Nav, Sport obviously. $38,000 flat. I'll post the pics of this car in the next post.
Looking for some unbiased feedback. Concerned with the winter handling of the rear wheel IPL vs. the XS. Thanks, let's hear it.

First, thank you for the replies so far. I live in NE Pennsylvania, we get snow. I haven't had a RWD car in a long time. Was interested to see what current owners of IPLs or G's with RWD could say about their winter related driving experiences. Is their a signifigant difference/gap between these particular 2 vehicles and how they will respond in winter driving conditions.
How do you feel these deals stack up compared to each other? Is one particularly better than the other?

I have never had my IPL out in the rain much less the snow. My Z is not fun in the snow. Yes you can get around but to me an AWD would be a very welcome addition.

I thought my Z would have been bad in the snow...but I drove it after a big snow storm all the way from Boise, Id. to Portland, Or. on I-84. It actually did much better than I expected. My biggest problem was the snow build up between my tires and fender wells. I had to stop a few times to break it loose.
I do have a X sedan now and it handled great in the snow and mountains in New Mexico last winter. It also did quite well at a track a few weekends ago.

Once you drive an AWD in snow you just realize how lame it is to be driving a rwd in snow. It's just silly if you have the choice.

Agreed...I will do my best to get an AWD next time too, and I live in Texas...although I do go to places where there is snow.
I have been impressed with the Infiniti/Nissan AWD system. Not just in the snow; it does very well on wet roads as well.
With the AWD, it has great traction performance on a road track too...just needs suspension upgrades.

Good to see another pa guy! Honestly, id probably say the awd. If this is gonna be a daily driving just fun sporty luxury car thats what i would say. I have had my rwd 08 coupe out in a dusting of snow and its really not great. Awd w/ nice all seasons would be a great combo for pa imo. Its a great car either way you cant go wrong.

Picked the car up yesterday... Which one? The IPL
I couldn't pass it up. I decided I'm keeping my 09 G37x sedan for my winter driving. I will be tinting the IPL, ASAP. I'll try to get some pictures of the Gs together.
