I need any & everyone's advice on Buying a G37 in the next few days...

After 5 days I finally am able to post a thread!!! YES!:JAMIN:

I am trying to get a G37 and I went to the local Dealer here. They dont have any that i am looking for but he told me he could trade and get one.

What he printed out for me was Athens Blue 6spd, black int, Prem pkg, Tech pkg, Navi pkg, 4WAS, Illuminated seals, and other options... after the loyalty cash he told me 43,100. This was before negotiating even started and i left before he asked what i thought so i could get on here and ask for help....he said this included trucking the car in from another dealer.

Please tell me what i need to do... how i need to go about getting a lower price ... what do i need to say...

If you could i would be greatful!!

He also said that there was another Athens blue with the same options except the TECH pkg. That would save me some money because it wouldnt have to be trucked as far. But he didnt give me the figures on it....

Lots of help ... any help... anything will help because im a newbie to car buying...

THANKS TONS!:hello:

did you compare that to invoice? you could look at that up at edmunds.com
I just bought one at a dealer which they had to do a swap but I got it slight under invoice after the $500 incentive. So don't believe you can't get a deal because its at a different dealer, or just go straight to the source and deal with them...

MaxToTheG37 Dec 13, 2007 11:35 AM

What does invoice actually mean??
thanks

about $3000 under MSRP give or take a few. Dealers get cars at invoice, then try to sell it at MSRP which equals profit for them.

So if they sell it "at" invoice then there arent making any money?

EDIT: THANKS for all the help too!

Wrong, dealers get cars for less than invoice...

Ok... So i am shooting for At invoice price or should i try lower?

What are some ways to talk and get a lower price?

go4gr8 Dec 13, 2007 12:07 PM

It's not about the talk so much as the walk.

1. Be prepared. Do your research. Know your prices;
2. Shoot for a price you're comfortable with;
3. Don't budge on that price but prepare to do some negotiating if it goes beyond your price;
4. Get connected with someone who has bought invoice in your area and he/she can coach you through the transaction. (Buy them dinner afterwards.)
5. Shop around when/if you have to.

Welcome to the forum.. I started off as such a noob and now when i go to dealers i tell them more about the car they what they knoo =)

shot for invioce or right above invioce, such as 5-800. Wouldent go higher then 800 unless they add free tints or so fourth.

well I remember someone saying dealers get $1099 under invoice known as a "holdback". but part of that money is used to pay for gas, transportation, detailing and other stuff so it's not really fair to expect them to take that money off. I think getting it at invoice or slightly under right now is very possible so that's what you want to aim for. I did it, others reported doing it also.

You also want to find out what the dealers doc fee's are. some charge as little as $45 some I found charge $300 or more.

MaxToTheG37 Dec 13, 2007 12:12 PM

Wow thanks guys this is really helping me out... I check edmunds and with all the tech,navi,prem,4WAS,kicksills,trunkmat,splashgaurd s comes to 40,200.

Vinny... so your saying be prepared to walk if over 41,000 ?

What are some other features likethem adding tint or something that i could ask for?

thanks guys!!

I got the 6MT with premium, nav, splash guards, spoiler, trunk net and mat. I think MSRP for that car is right around $42,575. Invoice is $38,799 according to edmunds, I negoitiated to $300 over invoice but then asked if they would apply that rebate since it comes from Infiniti it shouldn't come from the dealers pocket. At first he said that was already priced in but I talked him into it and got the car $200 under.

I didn't bring up that rebate incentive until the end... :)

You have to talk to a few dealers, have them each give you quotes and have them fight for your business.

Good luck!

which dealor and sales man did you go through?

xdram Dec 13, 2007 12:51 PM

My dealer is in NY. What part of the country are you? Send me a private message. They may not want me to tell everyone the deal so I'm going to ask first. If they agree I'll send you my sales man's number and email address.
