Hi all, first time poster long time lurker :thewave:

This is the build thread for my JDM 2009 7AT 370GT V36 Skyline Sedan

As far as I'm aware it is New Zealand's most powerful NA VQ streetcar

I purchased this car completely stock in 2018 as a fresh import with 1 previous owner back in Japan & 25000km on the odometer. It has taken from then till now to get to its current form with New Zealand's strict & lethargic road legal engineering certification system as well as a lengthy build process.

The aim for this build was a reliable street car that is comfortable, practical, professional/understated looking and exciting to drive. I was in love with the characteristics of both the car and the engine and seeked only to bring out the full potential of what the Nissan engineers originally envisioned for this Naturally aspirated VQ37VHR engine. I didn't want to skimp on anything, opting to go for quality parts over saving money with the view that I will have this car for a lifetime.

The first stage for my build was an ARK Grip catback exhaust, Fast Intentions resonated high flow cats, K&N Typhoon short ram intakes & an Uprev tune on a roller dyno

Not bad, but I wanted something truly special & unique. So the build continued.

The following is the modification list for the current build:

Grill: OEM midnight grill
Wheels: 19" TE37 Ultra diamond dark gunmetal, 19x8.5 front 19x9.5 rear +35 offset all around
Tyres: Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, 245/40/19 front 275/35/19 rear
Brakes: Brembo GT big brake kit in red, 6 piston front 4 piston rear calipers, vented/slotted floating rotors, S/S brake lines
Suspension: KW V3 coilovers with SPC rear camber arms
Swaybars: Hotchkis swaybars front & rear, Whiteline swaybar end links front & rear
Catback Exhaust: ARK Grip catback exhaust with polished tips
Headers: Motordyne XYZ long tube headers with high flow cat option custom modified to fit RHD & cermachrome ceramic coated
Intake: Z1 long tube CIA with optional race filter upgrade
Intake Manifold: AAM Competition upper intake manifold port matched to Z1 ported OEM lower manifold
Valvetrain: Jim Wolf Technology C2 camshafts & valve springs with new DLC Coated OEM valve buckets
Differential: Quaife ATB center with Z1 high capacity diff cover & Z1 poly bushings
undertray: Zspeed undertray
Hoses: Z1 silicone hose kit black
Tuning Software: ecutek
Dyno: Mainline Prohub dyno

I this tuned or running still on the stock computer.
If it's tuned then you might need a better tune, graph looks funky. It looks to me like this might be stock ROM and if it is there is a ton of more power to be squeezed from this.
The VVEL should make all of its power up top and not down low and drop after 6k or so.

to be fair not a whole lot of competition over here haha! With all the access to 90s JDM skylines with turbo RBs building a VQ isn't exactly a popular option, especially NA

Hey Gengar, just an observation. Folks over on the west side of the world are seeing 240kw with those same modifications on 93 octane. Based off the graph you posted it looks like tuning must be a bit off or that manifold is just holding you back an entire 20kw. Something to look at.

Yeah I'm aware the AAM manifold is probably holding me back a bit... but it looks so damn Good! Haha

Also something to bare in mind is that this hub dyno is a bit of a heart breaker, I know the dynos over in the US read quite a bit higher then dynos over here in general. This hub dyno reads quite a bit lower then even the average New Zealand dyno

Don't worry about it. Hell of a build no matter the numbers. And yes, that's a sexy looking intake manifold.
