Sam24th's build log
So about 3 months ago I went car shopping for a new daily driver. After driving a gas guzzling lifted toyota 4runner and toyota pickup for years I oped for a sportier coupe. I ended up looking and buying a Malbec Black 2013 Infiniti G37 IPL from a dealership here in NC. So far I've love every minute of owning it and has been a pleasant change from the lifted rough ride of my toyotas. Anyways after browsing here for 3 months I decided I would make a build thread and log my progress and modifications. So here is my car asI bought it about 3 months ago.
Oh and just a little bit of background on myself, I live in Charlotte, NC. I work as a mechanical design engineer so most things if not all things will be installed and done by yours truly. I also go to UNC Charlotte while working full time for my masters, so spare time for me comes at a premium. My other two vehicles are a 1984 Toyota Pickup truck that has been built into a rock crawler/camping truck and a 1989 4runner that I used to DD but have since retired it to weekend errands and hauling the mountain bike. I am pretty good at my own fabrication work, can weld and own a mill and a decent array of shop tools mostly from working on large equipment and trucks. This will most likely be a slow build but we'll see what happens. I did order somethings recently for blackfriday from Z1 so ill update this as needed.

I have a decent amount of plans for it. Its mostly gonna be a bolt on warrior haha. I plan on doing a strut tower brace, long tube intakes, high flow cats, tune the ecu (I live close to SOHO motorsports), sway bars, tires and wheels. Maybe coilovers to lower it a tiny bit and a front splitter. Possibly some other things later on down the line. First thing is to get new rotors and pads though, as the factory rotors have a bit of chatter in them.

Thanks guys, I plan to remove the hoodliner. It bugs me every time I pop the hood lol. I'll do it once my strut tower brace gets here. I forgot I also did install a roof mounted spoiler that I got from the group buy. Real small detail but I like it. Oh and the grill is chrome. I got a black one for it in the shop I bought but just havent had time to install it.

I just picked up a new set of wheels and tires from a buddy of mines. I still like my factory wheels better but this was such a good deal I couldnt pass it up. Tires are michelin pilot sport AS3 285/35/19 and 255/40/19. Wheels are Konig 19s 40mm offset 9.5in wide in the rear and 30mm offset 8.5in wide in the rear.

So a couple updates. I got a Tanabe Strut tower brace installed on my car mostly for looks and it was cheap. (Yes I know I need to re-glue my engine cover emblem) I also have a lot of parts showing up from Z1, stillen and rock auto. Stay tuned for more updates.

Well my interior aluminum trim was starting to look a bit faded and nasty. Decided to wrap the trim all in black brushed steel. I think they turned out pretty good so far. I still have a couple more pieces to do I plan on finishing later today.
