Flannigan’s G37x Sedan Progress Thread

Hey guys. Figured I would make a thread to keep track of my car and get some feedback on the direction it’s going.

I boight this G for my wife in 2013 trying to get her to enjoy a sport sedan over an SUV since we have no kids. After a couple years she got tired of a sedan and went back to new SUV. Instead of trading the car I decided to keep it for myself since I have always loved G’s and been a Nissan fanboy my entire life.

My my goal for this is to have a sporty, classy, street car that makes me want to look back at it every time I walk away.

Ive already done some work to it so this first post will play catch up and then I will keep track from here.

Interior Mods:
Tommy Kaira Airbag Cover
Tommy Kaira Clock
Tommy Kaira Neck Rests
Tommy Kaira Door Sills
Tommy Kaira Gauge Cluster (not installed yet)
Impul Starter Button
CarsMo *****
Spectra PhotoSync IR Ceramic Window Tint 35% side and 70% windshield

Exterior Mods:
Full paint correction and Modesta Private Label Ceramic Coating
KPMF Matte Purple Black Iridescent Vinyl Wrap
Yellow Fog Loght Wrap
Black Vinyl Roof Wrap
OEM Sport Bumper Retrofit
OEM Sport Lip
Successful Automotive Carbon Fiber Splitter for OEM Sport Lip
Successful Automotive Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps

Engine / Engine Bay:
IPL Engine Cover Painted w/ Real Top Secret Gold Paint
Top Secret Oil Cap
Top Secret Engine Cover Logo
Various Titanium Bolts
Z1 Silicone Intake Tubes
HKS High Flow Air Filters

Suspension and Wheels:
Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers
Varrstoen ES3 18x8.5
Work CR2P Matte Bronze Faces Anodized Bronze Lips 19x9.5 +40

The day we picked it up from the dealer.

The first day it was “mine” after getting my wife a new SUV. We performed a full paint correction and coated it with Modesta Ceramic Coatings

Trim prior to vinyl wrap.

3M Satin Black Vinyl Installed on Window Trim

3M Satin Black Vinyl applies to enter of grille.

Just playing around with one of the UGR cars at the shop.

Test fitting the Varrstoens.

John was not impressed with the knock off wheels. Lol

Before and after engine detail and touch ups.

Engine bay after a detail but before painting.

Phase 2 Clamps installed

Tommy clock and CarsMo ***** installed.

Tommy air bag cover pre install.

Really excited the JDM fanboy kid in me.

Right after coilovers were installed.

Right after coilovers were installed.

Successful Automotive Carbon Fiber Lip and yellow fog light vinyl.

Successful Automotive Carbon Mirror Caps

Coils adjusted and Bella trunk installed.

Sorry for the phone pics. I’ve been meaning to get better about getting decent pics of the car. Anyway thanks for looking and I’ll be adding updates soon!

Caliper color question.

So I need some feedback. I have a set of Akebono calipers to go on the car and with the Varrstoen wheels I was going to powder coat them gold to pull from the Top Secret color in the engine bay. Well I was lucky enough to fall *** backwards into a deal for a set of built to order Work Emotion CR2P wheels with matte bronze centers and bronze anapdized lips (pic below).

I don’t think gold calipers would look good behind these wheels so I’d like some ideas as to what direction to go that would look good. I was thinking teal as I’d like them to stand out but I don’t know if that might clash too much. Thanks!

Didn't realize you started with a AWD non-sport. That's quite a lot of work you've put into this project. The new wheels are going to look worlds better on your car. They're gorgeous.

Some really nice changes. Bella trunk is a little over the top, IMO, but I think it will suit the car better when you get the new wheels on, and maybe address the giant white space which is the flat of the trunk. I even like the clock, although there is such a thing as too much Tommy, LOL.

Subbed for progress.

[edit] Swaybars, swaybars, swaybars...

Lol. Thanks for your honest feedback! I do love the trunk and think it will fit in better once I have the carbon rear diffuser and get a decent set of wheels on the car.

As as for the Tommy other than the gauge cluster that I have thatnisnt installed yet I’m all finished with Tommy lol.

Again thanks man!

Great score on those sweet Emotion 2 piece wheels, going to look superb there! What are the width/offset specs on those?

Like the work you've done there, good touches throughout.

As far as caliper color, maybe glass black metallic w/ gold lettering?

Look forward to more updates!

Thank you! I like the idea of gold lettering! The wheels are 19x9.5 +40.

Yeah, just visualize these gloss black ones w/ gold decals, should look real nice back there. I have gloss black w/ silver on mine, but they're not Akebonos, but show up well behind the open spokes.
BTW, have you confirmed the BBK clearance? Those 2 pc take a bit of the backspacing away so I'd check w/ these templates prior, might need a little spacer

Excellent idea, Newt.

I prefer the INFINITI decal over Akebono or Nissan or whatever. It's thin, subtle, tasteful, OEM, etc.

However, if you're going to powdercoat them black, should probably use a metallic black.

Thank you. I did confirm The clearance. I guess there is a different disc they use for the face which takes care of that issue.

Metallic black would give a little extra interest too. Good idea.

Hi Flannigan, your car looks great. Can you please let me know the size of the P2M clamp that you used for your z1 intake tubes? Also, I noticed you have regular clamps by the throttle body, does the P2M clamp not fit? Thank you.

Not gonna be many people's jam, but about halfway finished wrapping the G in KMPF Matte Purple Black Iridescent vinyl. Depending on the lighting/angle it ranges from purple to black. Matte bronze Work wheels are scheduled to be delivered Monday too. Can't wait to finish it up!

Nice looking wrap, might not be everyone's jam, but I'd rock it

While I think the white is a beautiful color and the car looked great with it, that matte purple is ****ing awesome! Can't wait to see it finished.

So for a while I thought I was gonna sell the G, but I decided to keep it and finished the wrap and got the wheels on. Also ended up picking up a dope set of Amuse lugs from a fellow member here. Lots left to do, and definitely need to adjust the coils, but I’m happy to see if finally coming together.
