Ricio's 2011 G37 Journey Sedan

Hello all so I been on this forum for about almost a year now and I'm on my second G37 this past year, just recently sold my coupe witch I loved and was a sport edition lowered on eibach springs and had 20in MRR Wheels but I had to sell since I Have a baby on the way and found it more convenient, my sedan much newer 2011 with only 25k miles when I got it compared to the 2008 with 92k miles when I sold it, miss the Sport package especially the akebono brakes and the vlsd! Hopefully soon I can buy some bbk in the future when I Save up! First I tinted my windows and also got my headlights customized with gloss black housing and silver shroud and then I went ahead and just lowered it about two weeks ago on Swift Springs! No camber kit but I got my alignment and here are the specs. Don't have a sheet to upload since it was done by hand not computerized but the shop is alignment specialist for years and have a good reputation here in AZ witch is called Jacks Auto Alignments.

Rear: Negative 1 3/8th rear right and left
Front: negative 1 1/4th left , negative 1 3/8th right
Toe: 1 3/8 left. 1 3/8 right

I LOVE the headlights. Where did you get that from? Very sleek. Sucks you couldn't get the Sport but those wheels are classic too.

Looks like a great job there^^^
The gloss on that finish looks very good. How long did this take and what was the cost if you don't mind sharing that info.
Only thing I'd change would be the front grill emblem, the very front I'd go w/ the same color as your car body. Not the whole emblem, just the face.

Epiphany 09-13-2015 01:13 AM

Looks good, any plans to fill the front bumper holes? I'd also second doing the badge face in silver, it gets washed out in all the black right now.

Thank you and it took about 8 hours, I got it done while I was working, actually I was debating on leaving the emblem chrome but I really like the whole black look but the good thing is peel able so when I get bored I'll get it back

It's been a while but new upgrades coming this upcoming month, going for dual halos switchbacks, 3.0 STI-R lens, xb35 6500k bulbs! Made the purchase today and saved 20 percent with the retrofit source since I spent 200! So happy

Nice deal! Did you get the butyl tape too?

Ricio1991 11-26-2015 12:07 AM

Yes I did all came out to be 181.60 with the discount!

blnewt 11-26-2015 10:38 AM

The only regret I have about the DIY light job was not testing a few different spacing options with the STiRs. If you can assemble the lens w/ a few different spacing sizes and see the difference in cutoff at 15 feet give or take I'd mess around a little w/ that. My cutoff is clean and crisp w/a nice blue edge (10x better than OEM) but I think just a bit more spacing would have sharpened it to perfection.

I didn't mess w/ trimming the shield, but that will take it to an even sharper level if you've got the time.

Ricio1991 11-26-2015 02:05 PM

Thanks yeah I'll keep that in mind!

Some updates, headlights getting worked on as of now by Jon in Ohio does great work, so first picture is showing my housing getting melted I won't have lines anymore since it melted as shown in picture but in having them sanded down, from what I heard it has occurred in the past with sedans and the black shows more than the chrome, Here are some sneak peeks at what I am doing, couldn't hold off ! Also the diode dynamics getting replaced with morimoto xb35 due to flickering issues the DD was occuring with my 2011 sedan witch when I bought it wasn't stated in the website that they were issues. Sti-R lense is replaced already too just waiting on paint tomorrow😬

Thanks Yes was along day waiting but I didn't do it myself I am bad with DIY but the installers were really good they mainly build engines and work with Nissan a lot. I think I have my future mods I want to do is full ark catback, berk high flow cats and a 3.69 vlsd and hotchskis sway bars and be done with it. It will take me long due to not having extra funds but hopefully by next year and get them installed all at once to save labor

Quick update had to part out the G and trade it in! Overheating kept occurring and it got to the point that I think the heads went bad! Well I stayed and swapped some parts over to my new car 2017 Infiniti Q50 3.0t. I want to say I miss my G it was great and loved the mods I did but I'm glad I went to the boost life. All I have right now is a ecutek tune and is much quicker than my G. Enjoyed everything in this community and will miss my VQ scene
