How are HPS's regarding rotor life? I keep hearing mixed reviews and I can't make up my mind about which side to choose.

You will not have any issues with the HPS pads. If you aren't doing any track duty the Ceramics are a good.option as well.

How bad is dusting on the hps?.....or is the ceramic good enough for one or two track days in a year?

The HPS aren't bad. The ceramics would fold under track conditions....
