Symptoms of Bad Upper, Lower Control Arms
 

Sup. What are the symptoms of bad upper and lower control arms? Just curious. I just got new tires and balanced but when I travel on the highway at high speeds, I feel a vibration on the steering wheel. Is it possible the tires were incorrectly balanced? Possible worn out suspension part? Thanks.

Does the vibration all the time? Mechanical issue or bent rim.

Only during a specific speed range? Can you go fast enough that the vibration stops? Look at front tires.

This happens when I go 75+mph. There are times when it does smooth out for a minute but the vibrations come back. I will be taking my car to the tire shop where I got the tires. They said they will check the balancing on the front tires. We'll he how it goes.

I had similar issues right after having my front tires mounted and balanced. After a few weeks I bit the bullet and took the car to a reputable suspension shop and they did a proper road-force balance and the problems resolved.
