Should I get new tires?

2009 G37x, 17 inch rims. Buddy told me he would get me free tires from his dads shop and I took the offer. Of course there was a catch lol. When he returned the car I inspected the tires and immediatly noticed they had uneven wear and the rear right tire was a a completely different brand and thread pattern! They are all the right size and the car does not drive as smooth as it should. Conveniently I had an oil change today at the dealer so I had the multi point inspection done. My front left is at 7, front right is at 5, my back right is at 3(different tire) and my back left is at 9. I understand this is a problem lol. Should I just bite the bullet and purchase 4 new tires or just replace the back right since the back left is at a 9? The other 3 tires are goodyears. Money is not really a problem I just want whay is best for the car. Thanks.

Justin, with the weather warming up you might consider running 18x8.5 wheels w/ 245/45/18s all around, a much better selection of tires at that size and you can find wheels for pretty decent prices at places like tirerack.com. You could then store your 17s and put snow tires on them if you deal w/ a lot of winter weather. That would be my plan if you have the room to store the others and the slightly expanded budget

well you got what you got for going down the cheap route. either live with it or spend the cash and get some new tires. btw 3/32nds of tread is pretty much close to being bald.

yeah I know, he has done it for a few other friends of mine with no problem so I trusted him. They were obviously used which really pissed me off cause I was lied to. I'm gonna bite the bullet and grab some tires tomorrow. Havent had the car aligned in about a year so ill have that done as well. Thanks.

thanks for the advice! I am just gonna stick with the 17s as I am probably selling the car within the next 1.5 years. So I should just replace all four rather then just the back right tire? Infiniti is having buy 3 get one for a dollar (only place around me doing this atm sadly) and then I would just get them installed and aligned at my trusted mechanic Thanks once again!

Might check tirerack.com and see what their sets total out for, might be cheaper than that deal at the dealer.

Check Discount Tire before committing to anything. They will usually match other shops. Tire Rack usually has better pricing but you pay shipping. My local Discount always matches Tire Rack's pre-shipping price.

Got tires and an allignment today. Definitly notice a difference but still experince vibration, escpially at higher speeds 60+. Also my camber specs are not really the same as each other. I believe the arms are fixed so I am unsure if they are to be adjusted? Will call dealer Monday to discuss that. Aapparently my back right rim is bent pretty bad according to the dealer so maybe that is causing the vibration. Cannot really tell what direction the steering wheel is shaking or if it even is shaking but it definitely vibrates along with the rest of the car. Nothing is shaking just vibrating. Maybe it is the rim. Will be ruling things out Tuesday when I have acess to a lift. Really hope it is nothing serious with the drivetrain. Car drives great otherwise. Thanks everyone for your time and responses.

Stock front suspension can only adjust for toe. You'll have to buy adjustable upper control arms if you want to change camber or caster.

If you can, try running the spare on the right rear to see if the vibration goes away.
