Bridgestone Potenza RFT on G37x Sedan

Hello Fellas, I was given a set of 4 Bridgestone Potenza tires RFT 225/55/R17 with only 4,000 miles that were OE on a Q50. Does anybody have any experience with these tires and would they work fine on my 2012 G37x Sedan. Thaks guys!

They'll work fine but the run-flat design will result in a firmer ride. I assume w/ your AWD you deal w/ plenty of cold weather, so just be sure you have a winter set for that time of the year. The RTFs shouldn't be run below freezing or in the snow.

Thats interesting because those were the original tires that came equipped on an AWD Q50.

To be clear, you will be fine in freezing temps or mild to moderate snow so long as you are very careful. Winter tires are always the better option in the winter but with cautious driving most people are fine getting through the winter with all seasons (assuming you aren't in Canada or something) given you have an all wheel drive car. The winter tires are most important in stability around turns and stopping distance in the snow.

That said, stopping distance from the car in front of you in the snow could be the difference between having an accident or not. I suggest you test out how it feels in the snow then make a decision from there if winter tires are something you need.

Sounds good! My car is in need of new tires considering a have some cracks on the tire sidewall. I like the Goodyear RS-A's but they're very expensive. I dont know what other tires will be similar to those to put on my car. I thought the Bridgestones were good enough but I've been reading some not too good reviews about them.

Unless they make another run flat Potenza those should be max performance summer tires, which may get you through in freezing temps but it's strongly suggested by all tire manufacturers NOT to drive them in those conditions.

As far as the RS-As, they are a poor tire overall, not really good at anything except a quiet ride. I'd look into some quality All Seasons if you only want to run one tire all year (and deal w/ cold conditions often enough). The BFG Sport Comp2 A/S tires get great reviews and are priced pretty well vs. the best Michelin & Continental A/S treads.

The tires on the base 17" wheels for the q50 AWD are all season run flats (BRIDGESTONE
POTENZA RE97AS RFT Grand Touring All-Season). That said, I hate run-flats in general, but the post makes it seem like they were free.
