Spacers on stock wheels
I have the Q40 AWD which comes with the same stock 17" wheels as the G37 journey and X. I was wondering if I were to run into any issues if I were to add spacers without lowering the car? How would this effect the drive? And what size spacers would I need front/rear?
Primarily doing it for looks but if it effects the drive or will give me problems in the future, I won't install them. |

Put a piece of foam or paperback book 20 to 25mm thick along tire sidewall to get a visual, a bit easier to see it that way compared to a tape measure. |

As long as they're quality hubcentric spacer like H&R, B2 Autodesigns, Ichiba, you'll be OK as long as they're properly installed. If you go w/ bolt on spacers torque the spacer to 80 ft lbs and recheck torque after a hundred miles and recheck again every oil change. And NEVER use a 12 pt socket on those spacer nuts, they round off way easy, always use 6 pt sockets.

I realize this is an old thread, but for future reference:

What differences if any can you notice in how the car drives now that you have the spacers on?

I install them today, and short of a ride around the block to see if everything was ok, I can't tell any difference in the ride. More as I drive around this weekend.
UPDATE: Put about 30 miles on them today, no significant change in anything that I could discern. Maybe I wasn't paying close attention... more as I drive on them during the week. |
