2009 x coupe rotor and pad problem
This has been a hell of a day,ok I have a 2009 g37x coupe I ordered a brake kit from autoanything.com I first went to change the pads ok they did not fit so i drove to local autozone and got ones that did,got them and they fit in the stock calipers....now I put the front rotors on,slide the calipers on and put the wheel back on and its locked solid. drop the car and it's just dragging the tires so we put everything back on factory and no problem....what could be the cause of this?

basically the rotors were to thick for the pads and they locked up

Wonder if they sold you the entirely wrong set. Since the pads didn't fit chances are the rotors are wrong too. Were you able to measure them compared to your OEM rotors?

In 2010 the G37X coupe had the big brake pkg w/ 355mm front rotors and it also lists the 330mm front rotors as standard. But I think it was just the G37XS that had the big brakes and the 330mm was the G37X.
In 2009 it list the base coupe w/ 330mm front rotors and the AWD Sedan w/ 320 mm rotors but doesn't specifically list the 2009 G37X coupe so it's a bit of a quandry :confused2: If your X requires 320mm rotors but they sent you the 330mm rotors that would explain the wrong pads and tight rotor fit. The site I'm referencing is Brake Rotors Brake Discs Drilled Slotted Rotors it's a good reference as they list the entire rotor specs when you go to the rotor listings. |
If you could give us the part numbers they sent you from the box we'd be able to help you out as well to see what they sent you. It sounds like they sent you the sports brakes kit.
