OEM 19's to Volks 19's need help.
I just picked up a set of Volks SF Challenges.
Specs: 19x9.5 225/35/19 19x10.5 245/40/19 I'm thinking about putting the 245/40/19 on the fronts and 285/35/19 on the rears. Because I dont like the scretched look. What do you think? What and how do I swap the TPMS from my OEMs to the Volks? When I take the stocks off and try to fit the Volks on, there was a little nut in between two studs that were interfering so I unscrewed it and took it out. What is that for and is it necessary? Thanks http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y16...n/DSC_0655.jpg |
that bolt is useless, it's to help get off the rotors when they need to be replaced.... i think. to swap tpms... you have to dismount the tires from the stock rims and take them out... then dismount the tires on the volks and put them in.
post some pics! |

He's correct...I forgot to do this, and as nice as the car is that damn light is on the dash. I have a COBB ap now, I wonder if I can turn the light off? |

For some reason those look like they won't clear the caliper, at least on that pic.
What are the offsets? Spacers? |

You need at least a few mm clearance from the calipers to be safe. 245 on a 10.5" wheel is way too narrow a tire. I feel like my 275 on 10.5" are stretched too much. I'm not certain about the fronts, but that tire sounds too skinny too.

I don't know about the SF Challenges but from my uderstanding, some Volk wheels require an adapter for the TPMS. This is what Ryan and Sharif from Forged told me when I inquired about the GTS a while back. You might want to PM them about this.

I think you may need spacers in the front small ones to clear the caliber. 2 maybe 3 mills. |
ok, I have to order some lug nuts and I can drop it to see how it will clear then.

Do I have to use my stock TPMS or I can buy another set? if so, can it be off a G35 or a 350z?
