Hi

I have a G37x sedan non sport. I have just put new pads, rotors and guide pins on the front. After cleaning up the caliper and putting the new guide pins on with silicone lube, I've now got great movement for piston expansion/contraction, but the caliper now also has free play in it from the holes the guide pins sit in. This allows the caliper to knock when going over pumps and this gets super annoying. I re-used the existing spring/clips but have ordered some new and will fit those tonight, though I suspect they won't stop the play in the caliper/guide pins which I suspect has been caused over the 8 years and 250k of miles the cars covered. I'm contemplating new calipers on the front just to get rid of the noise but this seems excessive... I can't seem to find new caliper mounting brackets for the front seperate from the whole caliper assembly - this would be the most sensible, cost effective solution for me. I will put a link to youtube for another unfortunate G37 owner with the same issue!

re manufactured base model calipers are super cheap probably much cheaper than buying bits and pieces ...check rock auto they start at under $28.00 with the 5% off coupon thats always available...they even have powdercoated reds ones with new hardware for $36.00 before coupon...you may find them for even less on the classifieds here because so many people upgrade them to the akebonos they become throw-away items for most people
