looking for advice on suspension - please and thanks

Hi all,

For a 2012 g37x sedan, what is a recommended coilover (shocks + springs) that won't kill my wallet.

Even if you have a few suggestions I am open to researching them further!

Looking to close the wheel gap but have the ride be smooth during driving especially with kids in the back.

Thank you for your help!

I run KWv1s and love them. Ride quality is good on the street (not too bumpy), handling is great on track/open lap days.

Good option for sure, but if OP doesn’t need the rust protection of the INOX coating go with the STX coilovers instead(same thing minus the coating) at MUCH better price point.

OP be aware of the very low rear drop as well, even with the KW 30mm spacer.

thanks guys so much.

can you elaborate more on the rust protection comment?

i actually dont want the rear to be lower then the front, is this going to be an issue with both of the suggested coilovers STX and KWv1s?

Both the KW’s and ST’s are single(height only) adjustable coilovers.

KW bought and now builds ST’s so their valving and springs rates are the same. Only difference is the KWs are constructed or coated with a specific INOX material that resists rusting whereas the ST don’t have that coating.

Not sure if it’s true for coupes, though I thought it was, but these systems will NOT get very high in the rear on a sedan. If you do some searching you’ll see it’s a pretty well documented issue.

Whoops, sorry OP I just realized you have a X AWD model. Unfortunately, neither of these options will work you.

I haven’t done any research on that model since I have a RWD.

This might help :
